When all you need is a headlight bucket and some swing arms and end up with two cars. Some people look at this junk and can’t understand why anyone would save it, but to me, it’s an adventure. It’s a treasure hunt. It’s repurposing and recycling. I’ve heard that in many other countries, they just crush these old cars. They wouldn’t have stood a chance to live another day. While it was hot difficult work to rescue them, I’m glad I did and I’m enjoying the process of finding all the secrets and treasures that these long dormant Porsche 914s hold. by @duanewik

Being a Porsche lover, I got a great surprise when I arrived at work today. I have watched John Ortiz build this car for many years, and it now finished.
It is a spectacular air cooled Outlaw build, no AC, no heater, no radio, no Nannie’s, just raw power and feel of the road drive. I am hoping to have this car inside the clubhouse for next Mondays RedRockMotorClub.
Thank you for allowing me to enjoy the fruit of your labor. Nice job Duane Wik. by @duanewik

Some people love the huge rubber bumperettes on the back of a classic 911 G body. Personally, I don’t mind removing them in the name of weight savings. It’s probably one of the worst places to have weight on the 911 at the extreme end of the pendulum and 15.5 pounds is an insane amount of weight when it comes to easily removable options on the G body 911. A lot of these cars are really low so rear impact is really a minor consideration in my mind as just about 95% of all road going vehicles have the bumpers a good foot higher than the rear impact bumperettes on a 911. The original design is early 1970s to meet the 5 mph impact with no damage US regulation. The downside to the delete is that the license plate lights are contained within the rubber bumpers. I made a pretty subtle solution for this 85 911 Carrera. Sure, you could buy a cheesy LED frame, but I like this handmade and subtle solution. What do you think? by @duanewik
