“Suavecito” is one of my favorite songs on Mellow Mood’s “7,” so it’s only natural that its Dub Version was one of the ones I enjoyed reinterpreting the most. In this session, I used a very classic FX routing chain: a passive filter (high pass filter) sent directly into the Roland Space Echo. 🚀In this sequence, the delay tape greatly softens the sharp peaks of the filter sound and gives the song a truly epic atmosphere. Paolo Baldini @dubfiles drew on his collection of vintage and rare equipment to more accurately match the sonic quest that shaped Mellow Mood’s album in the first place.
