The first eleven minutes of Watchmen is the best work Zack Snyder has ever done. If you just watch that, you can squint and believe this is our next great filmmaker. Then you get past the credits sequence and onto the rest of his career and that’s pretty much the end of that. #watchmen #watchmenmovie #zacksnyder by @dubin123

Perhaps no actor could project both menace and sadness so effortlessly. He had a face that was a character backstory all on its own, a face that - unlike so many Hollywood leading men - said “this man has led a life and he’s got some demons.” There were prequels and prologues and stories better not asked about in his sad eyes and rueful smiles.

Gene Hackman was our blue collar actor, a face from America, not Hollywood. He followed the path Steve McQueen laid to leading man stardom, sneaking in the back door and never letting them kick him out. RIP. by @dubin123

If you’ve got the Super Bowl on tape and don’t want to sit through what for most of America was a pretty boring game, just fast forward to 8:38 of the second quarter. Eagles up 10-0, but the Chiefs have been down by 10 in every single one of their Super Bowl wins. They have the ball at their own 30.

This in hindsight is the 3 play sequence that ended the game.

1st & 10 - Josh Sweat rushes Mahomes so quickly that he is behind Travis Kelce before Kelce is even out of his stance. This is the play that they should show Travis Kelce when he thinks about retiring. Mahomes tries to climb the pocket but it has already collapsed. Sack. Sweat does his “wiping the sweat off my brow” celebration, which is the best signature celebration in football.

2nd & 14 - The pocket collapses again and Jalyx Hunt (the Temu version of Jalen Hurts)
sacks Mahomes as the entire pocket collapses. Hunt’s “bow hunting” celebration isn’t as good as Sweat’s but it’s a tribute to former Eagles edge rusher Trent Cole (who also wore #58) and that’s pretty cool. Brady on color commentary calls out that Mahomes has happy feet in the pocket, and once he notes it it’s obvious. Mahomes doesn’t trust his offensive line at all, more should he.

3rd & 16 - Mahomes escapes the pocket and rolls right despite not really needing to (it’s unclear if this is a designed boot or just Mahomes seeing ghosts, but either way it’s a result of the previous two sacks), and ends up throwing across his body toward DeAndre Hopkins running a crossing route from left to right, and completely doesn’t see Cooper DeJean underneath running right to left. DeJean intercepts the ball on the run and returns the ball almost 40 yards for a touchdown.

17-0 and game effectively over. There would be another interception and another score before halftime, but the Chiefs were broken on that series and the Eagles defense realizes that they had nothing to fear from this offense.

I will bet no less than $1 million dollars that the reason Trump is so hellbent on annexing Greenland and Canada is because someone showed him an old Mercator world map, and on those things Greenland and Canada look HUGE.

He 100% thinks Greenland is bigger than Africa. Look at this map. There is no way this is not the reason. It explains everything except for the Panama Canal. I’m working on that one. by @dubin123
