POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

May is #PetSafetyMonth and this clip shows one of the many reasons why I choose to cruise with @gunnerkennels . As much as I love having a friendly companion by my side on road trips, the anxiety and excitement of where we’re going is very distracting and very dangerous. West and Gunner are more than willing to ride in their kennels, and always seem relaxed and excited when we get to our destination.

GUNNER has been tested and proven to be one of the safest kennels on the market. Be sure to check out the safety page on their website to read real life success stories, and watch their laboratory crash tests.

To get your dog into a GUNNER for your rig, head over to the link in our bio to shop! 💥

My emotions have been triggered these last few days with all of the dog abuse stories coming out in the retriever world. Seeing some of the horrifying videos and reading some of the articles instantly brought fire and rage into my heart, and tears to my eyes. The amount of love I have for dogs, and in particular my own duck dog is unexplainable.

This unspoken bond between me and West is special, and I only want to protect him more, and hold him closer after hearing how some of these dogs are dangerously mistreated.

These dogs work so hard for us, and only want to please us, and we don’t deserve them. I cherish every minute I have with them, and I’m so disgusted by these stories. They are the ones that give gun dog trainers and hunters a bad name.

I share my training journey through Instagram to show how special our relationship is, and to hopefully be a positive light in the gun dog world.

Sticks, fish, friend, and naps. What more could a dog ask for in the summertime?

It was the fishiest of times exploring our backyard waters this weekend. There’s truly nothing better than sharing time outside with the people and pups you care about most. I don’t know what heaven looks like but if it isn’t full of trout and friendship, I don’t want to go. 🌄🎣🐾🥰 by @duckdogwest
