Hey guys, Nate from hardcore here, but I’ve also been called the White Kenny Beats. You’re not going to believe this, but I made a beat tape two years ago and never put it out because of the ADHD that kills people. It’s out now on Bandcamp. I don’t know if I’ll put it anywhere else! It’s called 5 DOLLA MACHINE because it’s a machine that makes me 5 dollas when you buy it. Maybe I’ll make tapes if my friend Shua wants to help me make a J card. My beautiful and perfect wife Cara made the art and I love her. I’m really proud of these songs and I sat on them way too long, but it feels good to put them out there. Back from Asia. I’ll think about the last two weeks when I take my final breath. I love my wife, I love Jeff and Hannah, I love SOUR and No Model, I love @aliceinchang and @info_blackhole, I love Seoul and Tokyo hardcore. Grateful for everyone we met abroad; I can’t wait to see you all again someday. Life really can be so beautiful. by @dudesxrock

I started writing the music for Heaven, USA a year and a half ago. This record means so much to me for so many reasons: being able to give my best friend a stage from which tell his story; working with friends who trusted me completely to create an entire 24 minute world, and then stepping into that world and taking it even further than I could have imagined; and now, ultimately, going all the way to another continent off the strength of these songs. If I died tomorrow, I would be less sad knowing this record was out and feeling that I had completed one of my life’s pivotal works. Hardcore has given me so much, and this record feels like maybe I was able to give something back to it. I am so grateful to Jeff, Nate, and Daniel; Cara; Tom and Critch and Chang-hwan and Colin; Hannah, Aaron, Sehun, Ilija, Shua, Joey Gogurt, and Vlade; and one million other people who are all built into this record. What a beautiful thing it is to be alive and be woven into the fabric of other people’s lives, and to have them be woven into mine in turn.

Sorry Jeff, Nate, and Daniel, I tried to write a hardcore record and I fear we wrote Music instead 😔
Here are photos related to SOUR’s endeavors this year that make me smile.

PS: thank you also to #gcacgrants for awarding me an artist grant. It is good to reclaim my tax dollars from the clutches of police budgets and Israeli war crimes and instead use them to play hardcore. by @dudesxrock

International HC bad boy status: achieved

16 year old me would die if you said our band gets to play shows in Asia because of songs we wrote. What a privilege it is to give my best friend a platform to share his story and externalize his inner world, and then to bring that back to the place he was born. Can’t believe it, honestly. I’ll save the rest of the sap for ****** *** day, which is sooner rather than later! by @dudesxrock
