Proud dad moment. This past week, my son Cristian Duncan, who will be entering his senior year of high school in August, had the opportunity to participate in the Motorola Solutions Career Mentorship Program. Watching him work alongside industry professionals, contribute to the business and financial strategy for his team’s AI-powered solution, and help his team earn first place in the final Shark Tank-style presentation has been incredibly rewarding. His team won the competition. Programs like this do far more than teach technical and business skills, they build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and the ability to solve real-world problems. His team was tasked with developing an innovative solution for a mission critical scenario. Together, they created MotoPulse, an AI powered wearable concept designed to monitor firefighters’ vital signs in real time and provide AI driven recommendations to help improve safety during emergency situations. Cristian was the Business & Finance representative, he developed their business plan and financial strategy (COGS, operating costs, ASP, NRE, timeframes, and other key costs.) while taking the initiative to keeping theteam focused throughout the project. My sincere thanks to Motorola Solutions and all of the mentors (Stephen & Jacob) who invested their time and experience in developing the next generation of leaders. Experiences like these can have a lasting impact on a young person’s future. Congratulations, Cristian. I’m incredibly proud of the young man you’re becoming.
