Cheers mates! Welcome to my trip to the land down unda
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Reporting live from the tropics! Made it up to far North Queensland recently and here’s some pics/vids of my new landscape and some cool wildlife shots I’ve gotten. Everyone here is super laid back and friendly, as you would expect when you live in a tropical paradise. Haven’t don’t too much adventuring as it has been torrential rain for the majority of my stay so far but I will keep yall updated when I go on an expedition into the rainforest or out to the reef. Featured animals: needlefish, pelican. taken in Cairns, Queensland, Australia by @duffy.down.under

AUSSIE RULES FOOTBALL! Spent my Fourth of July weekend by goin to my first AFL game in support of my newest addition to my sports teams, the Brisbane Lions. The game is closest to Gaelic Football but played on what looks like a Quidditch field from Harry Potter. Game was fun, fans are electric, and after the game even got to do down on the field. Few other things I did this weekend in honor of America: eat a couple hot dogs, light some sparklers, and take pictures of a few places that reminded me of CT taken in The Gabba by @duffy.down.under

What Garth said. Got some friends in low places. Random photo dump of some mates I’ve made here in Aussie land along with a few self made masterpieces. Not really much else to say with this post except that I hope everyone enjoys their 4th of July weekend next week in my absence🇺🇸 taken in Queensland, Australia by @duffy.down.under

Back again with some more pics/vids from Straddie. God was playin favorites when he made this spot. Spent the day watching huge amounts of whales migrating off the coast. Saw endless amounts of whales, dolphins, turtles, and rays. (Turtles and rays were a bit tough to capture on camera sorry yall). Had a whale give me a little “how ya doin” on his way by and got to see a huge pod of dolphins swimming by. Also featured is an unknown bird species to me but it looked like a bald eagle if a bald eagle liked salt water and was Australian. Anyway this was a sick day. Catch yall on my next adventure. taken in Point Lookout Stradbrook Island by @duffy.down.under

It’s been an absolute pleasure Airlie! Saw my first Aussie snake in the wild but missed him eating the cockatoo (but you can see the bird in his belly). The little gecko was a cool guy too (even though he was maybe half an inch long at most). Sad to go but somethin tells me I’ll be back here sometime hopefully soon. Till then, peace out Airlie Beach! 🤙🏻 taken in Airlie Beach, Heart of the Reef by @duffy.down.under

Childhood dream of seeing the Great Barrier Reef ✅. Meeting a pirate on a deserted island ✅. Swimming with a shark, no check. Super bummed I didn’t see at least even a reef shark yesterday while in the water but I did get to swim 2 feet above a green sea turtle for quite a bit until he went over the ledge of the reef and dove farther down than I can. The Whitsundays Islands are insanely beautiful even without blue skies. This is only a handful of pics/vids but hopefully yall get a good idea of what the day was like from these. taken in Great Barrier Reef, Airlie Beach, Queensland by @duffy.down.under

Two days in Airlie Beach and three to go. Even with all the cloud cover, rain, and insane humidity it’s still been heaven on earth. Small and fun little downtown area with restaurants, shops, and cool sights. New favorite gelato flavor is banana split, and new fear is death by jellyfish. Tomorrow could be the first time I swim with a shark (most likely a reef shark) but fingers crossed that it actually happens. Much more to come. Stay tuned and thanks for checking in! Cheers yall! taken in Airlie Beach, Heart of the Reef by @duffy.down.under

Hey yall! Been working a lot recently so I haven’t had many adventures as of late but these are the ones I have done since I last updated yall. Went to a food truck event in my local neighborhood, played foot golf for the first time (getting to showcase those Ludlowe soccer skills), watched a soccer game at a nearby field, and welcomed some newcomers to Aussie land! I also took a pic of a cool cloud that looked like Kentucky (shoutout my to my sister) and one of two cool things you put on your crocs (can’t remember the name of them). Not featured is my first ever St Patrick’s day in Australia. Not as much fun as Boston or New York but still had a good time and had a Guinness in honor of the Duffy name. Other non pictured moments that deserve a shout are: I got chased by a wallaby on a walk home the other night, had to kill the second cockroach in my house (similar to a Texas size roach), and discovering Chatahoochie Joe’s and their wall of boots. Coming soon: The Whitsundays. taken in Mt Gravatt Street Food by @duffy.down.under

A selfie on the river, a cockatoo on a power line, a giant squid in a case, Australia’s crustaceans (big one is the ornate spiny lobster), a tiger shark jaw (noticed how the teeth are stored), an orca skull, cool sunset pic at the Brisbane wheel, and a video of bats looking for fruit at dusk. Currently hunkering down as Brisbane is about to experience its first cyclone in 50 years. Also I had a really good milkshake from a food truck called Kreamed. taken in Brisbane, Queenland, Australia by @duffy.down.under

Went on a nice walk/hike in the late afternoon to check out a bit more of the neighborhoods around us and these were some of my favorite pics/videos during the adventure. Saw some cool flowers along the walk so I decided to try my skills at professional photography. Not sure what the flowers are called but they looked cool. Had a crazy cool sunset with a mini rain shower that caused for a sick rainbow that almost went double rainbow. Enjoy the dope drone video captured by the drone expert himself @jdelardi_12 🤙🏻🇦🇺 by @duffy.down.under

CRIKEY! The most anticipated part of the Australia Zoo - the crocs. Most of the crocodiles at the Australia Zoo are saltwater crocs which are the ones yall see in the videos. Crocodiles can hold their breath for up to 8 hours which is why they can hide under the water for so long while their prey gets closer to the waters edge. Something I never knew is that 70% of saltwater crocs may be found living in freshwater whether it’s a river or pond and the reason they can do this is because they breathe air so it really doesn’t matter what water they’re in. Some of these crocs Steve caught himself in the Northern Territory and northern Queensland of Australia. If you ever travel to some of these places in the croc territory be sure to use caution when walking near the water or even trying to lean over to have a look as there may be a 25 foot croc waiting just below the surface. by @duffy.down.under

CRIKEY! More animals from my trip to the Aussie Zoo. Got to take a pic with a barking owl (named for the ‘woof’ sound he makes), compared my wingspan to Aussie’s biggest birds of prey, saw some of the worlds deadliest reptiles, met some photogenic elephants, and took a trip to the African safari. I’m now a big fan of red pandas and I learned that their black fur on the bottom is used as camouflage against predators looking up trying to find them in trees. I tried to race the cheetahs but I don’t think they wanted the smoke. Animals are cool. by @duffy.down.under
