Yo! Friday, August 22 we have Lawrence bands Virga and Very Shallow Secret Life bringing us some sounds from their fertile scene.This will be Virga’s second time in Lincoln, and first since their 2025 opus “Eremocene.” The music is like a look out at the great plains prairie while you reckon with the news of the world’s latest atrocities that glow in your palm. The band are busy beavers this year, having released a new EP in January and doing a bunch of shows with Chat Pile and Soul Glo in a couple months.Perhaps we’re burying the lede a here bit too, since two of Nebraska’s very best — Madeline Reddel and Ghostlike — are also on this one.If you have even a strand of melancholy in your bones, this could be your thing.
