Palais, Carlton, Croisette usw. Dazwischen ein Schaumstoffcroissant, das den Fingertest nicht besteht, ein Raum voller Licht bei LUZI und eine Möwe, die um diese Zeit auch noch unterwegs war.

Am Montag hatte die Messe wie immer mehrere Adressen. Einige mit Badge, noch viel mehr ohne. Das Schicksal und/oder Netzwerk führt einen stets (wieder oder endlich) zusammen.

Die meisten Adressen dieser Messe stehen nun einmal in keinem Plan. Go with the flow. Genau deshalb geht man hin.

Palais, Carlton, Croisette and so on. In between: a foam croissant that fails the finger test, a room full of light at LUZI, and a seagull still out and about at that hour.

On Monday, as always, the fair had several addresses. Some with a badge, many more without. Fate and/or the network always brings you together – again, or at last.

Most of this fair’s addresses simply aren’t on any plan. Go with the flow. That’s exactly why you go.

Sonntag in Cannes.

Der Badge kommt warm aus dem Drucker, das Passfoto schaut ernst – der Tag zum Glück nicht. Die Lobby summt in fünf Idiomen, und keins davon geht verloren: ein Espresso an Bord, eine Box, die sich per Daumen öffnet, zwei winkende Damen am Empfang. Um 21:00 haben alle ihr Handy gehoben. Zum ersten Mal an diesem Tag in dieselbe Richtung.

Sonntag in Cannes, ein Tag in fünf Kapiteln: Croisette, Spiegel, Beach Club, Feuerwerk, nach Mitternacht. Die eigentliche Messe beginnt erst am heutigen Montag – gefunden hat man sich schon gestern.

wo Nische gerade nicht hypothetisch war.

Manche Erinnerungen kannst du nicht abrufen – nur riechen.

So manches Gesicht verblasst. Ein Name, ein Datum – plötzlich weg.
Aber dieser eine Geruch wartet. Jahrzehntelang. Und holt dich in einer Zehntelsekunde zurück.

Das ist keine Romantik, das ist Anatomie: Geruch ist der einzige unserer Sinne mit direktem Draht ins limbische System – den Sitz von Gefühl und Erinnerung. Kein Umweg, kein Filter. Ein Duft trifft dich, bevor du denken kannst.

Deshalb ist Parfum keine Dekoration.
