Our institutions should serve students—not the other way around. I’m running for ASUC External Affairs Vice President* to ensure that student needs, priorities, and lived experiences are not just heard, but actively represented in every external space where policy decisions are made—spaces that too often exclude our voices. 🏛️

Join the movement. Link in bio. 💚

Huge thank you to @caidenaihart for bringing this project to life. 💙

I am beyond honored and proud to be endorsed by the Black*, East Asian*, Housing*, Pilipinx*, QT+*, Southeast Asian*, and the Women** and Nonbinary* Communities for my EAVP candidacy! 🤎🐉🏠🇵🇭🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🪷💜💛

I am beyond grateful for everyone’s trust—not only to advocate for bills, budget asks, and policies impacting each community and their intersections, but to intentionally bridge all students with external bodies and demystify the lobbying process. As your ASUC* External Affairs Vice President, I am committed to making sure every student—across identities, backgrounds, and experiences—is represented in the spaces where decisions are made.

Multicultural solidarity and community well-being have been at the heart of this grassroots campaign from the start. I’ve deeply valued speaking with each community’s caucus about how we can utilize the EAVP* office to be truly representative, and I view these endorsements as a way to hold the EAVP* accountable to all student communities. I am committed to uplifting the needs, priorities, and lived experiences of our entire student body—especially amid a federal landscape that continues to restrict the support, opportunities, and rights of our students across our campus.

I am also grateful to be endorsed by passionate and impactful student leaders across our campus. Swipe to see who has joined our movement. 💙

🚨 Higher education funding is once again on the chopping block ‼️

The Trump administration’s FY27 budget proposal, released April 3, 2026, prioritizes defense and immigration enforcement while proposing drastic cuts to the very programs that make higher education accessible, eliminating FSEOG and TRIO, slashing Federal Work-Study, and shifting costs onto students and employers.

But we’ve seen this before, and we’ve fought back. As the only EAVP* candidate with direct experience lobbying during the FY26 cycle, where Congress ultimately rejected many of these cuts, I know what it takes to turn advocacy into real results.

This platform is about protecting and expanding the funding pipelines that sustain student access, research, and opportunity.

We must take early, coordinated action ahead of the FY27 appropriations cycle, lobbying Congress to protect Pell Grants, Work-Study, TRIO, MSIs, and critical research funding while ensuring student voices are centered in every conversation.

At the same time, we need to stabilize research and post-grad pathways in the face of federal uncertainty by supporting state-level investments like SB 895 California Science and Health Research Bond Act and federal efforts like H.R.6718 Professional Student Degree Act.

With the 2026 gubernatorial election shaping the UC’s financial future, we must engage candidates directly, elevate student priorities, and mobilize voter participation to ensure higher ed funding remains a top state priority.

Funding is not just about tuition, it is about whether students can afford to live, eat, and thrive. That is why this platform also fights for student housing legislation, expanded basic needs funding, and stronger support systems across campuses.

Here in the Bay Area, protecting public transit like BART is essential to affordability and access, because getting to campus should not be a barrier to success.

Higher education funding is under threat, but with strategic advocacy, coalition building, and student mobilization, we can defend and expand the resources our communities deserve.

Swipe to learn how we can fund our futures. 💚💸

Deeply honored to receive ASUC President* Abigail Verino’s endorsement for my EAVP* campaign! 🫂

Having been involved in the EAVP* office since my freshman year, one of my earliest initiatives was co-authoring a nonpartisan voter guide ahead of the 2024 election, which was included alongside organizing a Pilipinx voter engagement event during Abigail’s term in the Senate*. 🇵🇭

My EAVP* campaign feels like a full-circle moment—running for the very position that first brought me into the advocacy space. “Isang bagsak,” an activist motto and unity chant meaning “one fall,” originates from anti-Martial Law activism in the Philippines. It reflects the belief that when one member of a community rises or falls, the entire community does so together.

From organizing efforts in Sacramento to Washington, D.C., I remain committed to continuing and strengthening this mission: to lead lobbying efforts in community, with community, and for community. 🏛️

I’m grateful for leaders like @abigailverino who selflessly invest in this work and in the people behind it, and I’m honored to contribute to the legacy of the ASUC*. 💙

Our current Black Community-endorsed ASUC Senator*, Margaret Solomon, has demonstrated the kind of thoughtful, trailblazing leadership within the ASUC* that continues to expand what student advocacy can and should look like, and I am honored to receive her endorsement for my EAVP* candidacy!

As this year’s Black Community*-endorsed EAVP candidate, I am committed to ensuring that the voices of Black students are not only heard, but meaningfully centered in our student advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels—consistently elevated to uplift lived experiences.

With our campus recently receiving Black-Serving Institution (BSI) designation at the state level, it is critical that this recognition is actually matched with real accountability, structural support, and resources for Black students. In the EAVP* seat, I will work to support the reintroduction of The Designation of California Black-Serving Institutions Grant Program in the next legislative cycle, ensuring that our newly acquired status is backed by tangible funding, and partner with legislators to secure meaningful investment across all segments of California higher education. 🤎

I’m honored to @margg.ss with us as we work to build an ASUC* that truly uplifts and serves all of its students. 💙💚

As the Southeast Asian Community*-endorsed EAVP candidate, I’m honored to have the support of ASUC Senator* Sydnee Thy, who has thoughtfully and impactfully led our Southeast Asian Community* this past year. 🪷

I’m committed to strengthening our marginalized student communities through tangible, impactful advocacy. I will fight to protect Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) funding for FY 27 so that Southeast Asian students, the broader AANHPI community, and all students can access equitable opportunities and resources in higher education.

Proud to have @sydneethy on board as we both work to build an ASUC* that truly delivers for its students. 💚

Typical campaign buzzwords often center “accountability”—but what does that actually look like in practice?

As your EAVP*, I am focused on turning advocacy into tangible policy wins. That means leveraging the office’s unique position to lobby for SB 1141—ensuring UC executives cannot engage in conflicted contracting practices—and continuing to advance UCSA’s* original and co-sponsored ACA 18 to institutionalize doubled student representation on the UC Board of Regents. At a time when student voices remain structurally limited, expanding representation is critical to building a more accountable and student-serving UC governance system.

Because the UC Board of Regents is granted “constitutional autonomy” under the California State Constitution, passed higher education-related bills do not automatically apply to UC campuses unless the Regents vote to implement them. That’s why strengthening student engagement with Regents—through public comment, advocacy pipelines like StAR*, and direct coordination with the Student Regent*—is essential to ensuring student priorities are reflected in UC systemwide decisions that too often exclude student voices.

Beyond external advocacy, this work also means expanding access to legislative engagement itself—investing in student participation in UCSA* advocacy spaces, uplifting identity-based lobbying efforts, and equipping students with the tools to navigate policy and budget processes. Inclusion is not just representation, but active participation: creating pathways for all students from our diverse communities to uplift their needs, priorities, and lived experiences in our lobbying efforts in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.

Lastly, accountability must also start within. From transparent financial reporting on lobbying efforts to consistent public office hours and open lines of communication, the EAVP* office should be held to the same standards of accessibility and responsibility that we demand from our institutions.

Amid escalating federal attacks on our diverse student communities—from rampant ICE activity, UC Berkeley releasing personal data of over 160 campus members, to international student visas being revoked—our campus is becoming increasingly unsafe and uncertain for many students.

As your next EAVP*, I am committed to advancing policies that not only secure, but strengthen students’ ability to exist and thrive in higher education. To address fears around immigration enforcement, we must push UC administrators to fully and transparently implement SB 98—ensuring real-time, emergency notifications that tangibly safeguards students, not delayed responses that undermine safety.

With growing data privacy concerns, we must also reaffirm Berkeley’s commitment as a sanctuary city and strengthen protections around student data. With the local expansion of surveillance technologies like Flock cameras, the City of Berkeley must halt further installation and have full transparency around data access, retention, and sharing practices with federal agencies. We must also go beyond protecting existing SB 54 protections and expand sanctuary policies by supporting UCSA* leaders to introduce a Sanctuary Campus Act, ensuring universities cannot share student data or resources with federal immigration enforcement, and reaffirming campuses as safe spaces for free expression.

Lastly, we must protect and preserve international student presence in higher education by advocating for fair visa policies, due process, and pathways that allow students to continue contributing to our academic communities without fear of arbitrary revocation.
