Proud of my son, Eric “Skywalker Jr.”, as he heads into tomorrow’s Fairground Throwdown in Deming, New Mexico. Fights start at 4 p.m. Coming off a win, he’s gaining confidence and continuing the family legacy of his great-uncle, two-division world champion and Hall of Famer Bobby “Schoolboy” Chacon.

Much credit to his lead coach, Frank Armijo of Duke City Underdogs, for helping develop Eric. As his father and coach, I’m proud of his progress. His sister Joyce The School Girl also is doing real good in the sport. Proud of my family and the work they’re putting in.

Hard work, commitment, and quality rounds tonight at Duke City Underdogs.

Always great having Valeria Mejia and Ulysses Chavez in the gym putting in work with our team. These young fighters bring skill, toughness, and intensity every time they step in the ring. Thank you both for coming through and giving our kids some great sparring tonight.

We’re staying busy with our next fight coming up October 10 in Deming, New Mexico, and more planned to close out the year strong. The work continues.

Duke City Underdogs is open Monday through Friday, with sparring Tuesdays and Thursdays. Come check us out and put in some work. taken in Albuquerque, New Mexico by @dukecityundrdogs
