I’m hurting. I’m Destroyed. She is the closest person I ever had to as a parent. Mother or Father. She was my parent in one. Taught me how to be a man. Taught me about UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Taught me honor, morals and integrity. I’m hurt. I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. Only she can help me through this. Only she knows the right words to say to me. Only she knows how to get me through this. I praise my cousin Mariah Lynn for doing everything she could to be by her grandma side. I praise my cousin Alicia Vargas for being strong enough to guide us on how to handle this while still being in pain. I praise my wife Dina Carter and my kids. I’m working. Book/Audio YouTube series coming soon. “Only You” is a powerful coming-of-age story about love, pain, and survival in Brooklyn where two teens, Los and Tete, fight to rise above family struggles, street life, and heartbreak while learning that sometimes the hardest battle is within yourself. It is loosely based on my wife and my own experiences. With the help of AI to create background visuals this is a journey only I can tell. This will be a three part series. My baby girl, Faith. Class of 2027. 🎓🧡🫡💪🏾

Looking at these pictures, I don’t even know where the time went. You look so beautiful. Seeing you in that cap and gown, knowing you’re getting ready to graduate high school… your dad is over here trying to hold it together. 😂🥹 I’m so proud of you, and not just because of what you’re accomplishing, but because of the young woman you’re becoming.

I wish grandmother and Titi Millie were here to see you. I wish I could show them these pictures, hear what they’d say, and see their faces when you walk across that stage. That hurts. The women who helped raise me would be so proud to see the daughter I’ve helped raise. So much of the love they gave me is in the way I love you.

Dina and I have been a team through this journey, and we’re grateful for the family, friends, teachers, and community who have helped us raise you. Every person who showed up, encouraged you, guided you, or love you has been part of your village.

But Faith, YOU did the work. We could support you and remind you what you’re capable of, but we couldn’t do it for you. You put in the effort and kept working toward your goals. Give yourself credit for that. You’ve earned it.

There’s still a senior year to finish and so much ahead of you. This is only the beginning. Keep dreaming, keep putting in the work, and know that wherever life takes you, your mom and I will be right there cheering you on.

Man, twelve years already. Happy birthday to my son, Carmelo!

Melo, watching you grow up has been one of the best parts of my life. Sometimes I look at you and still see that little boy I could carry around. Now you’re getting older, finding your own voice, and becoming your own person. I’m proud of you, son.

I hope you always know how much I love you. We’re gonna laugh together, disagree sometimes, and learn as we go, but you’ll never have to wonder if Dad is in your corner. I’m there. Always.

What Am I Supposed To Do????!!!!!!! I have been acting like I’m ok. Like life can go on and continue. I’m not. I’m crushed. Words can’t help. Advice can’t help. Hugs can’t help. Nothing can. Only one thing can. Naw. Only one person can. And she is no longer here. I miss my aunt. I tried to handle this the best I can. Have tried to keep things as normal as possible for my wife and kids.
