If you like a little "woo" with your sewing, our Pocket Altar class is for you.
Pocket altars are tiny mementos infused with intentions. I have a blog all about them on our website but it's a tiny keepsake, reminder or token dedicated to yourself or someone you love.
Our studio is filled with all kinds of textile treasures for you to use plus you can bring anything from home you'd like to include. Special fabric, buttons, ribbon or even small photos.
Basic sewing machine skills are helpful and there is a bit of hand stitching.
It's the perfect end of the season project where you can honor ancestors, make a place for intentions or dreams to land or create a magical gift.

WOO + Stitching = Pocket Altar Retreat
Friday Nov 7 to Sunday Nov 8 in Gouldsboro, Maine
I've teamed up with my friend Nicole who has the sweetest Air BnB right on the ocean plus is an amazing chef.
Weekend retreat includes lodging and meals as well as the pocket altar workshop.

Quilted Witch hat class @ebbandflowfiberarts .
Yesterday, I made a few adjustments to the construction of the hat so it's a bit more beginner friendly. You do need some sewing machine experience to create this fun hat that you will wear for years and get many, many compliments on.

Be on the look out for some well dressed witches. The Witch Hat workshop was fun and challenging because one of the types of interfacing was possessed and not very cooperative.

This is just a friendly reminder to VOTE
The person before me spent a lot of $$
I’m trying to fill up when I’m at 1/2 a tank to lessen the shock. As a kid I remember gas rationing on a family road trip to Florida. Made my dad a bit grumpy. Which is why I’m reminding everyone to just go VOTE by @dulseandrugosa

Channeling my inner teacher because I freaking loved October. So many good books, art and craft projects, pumpkin fun and my favorite Hap Palmer’s Witches Brew.
Yes, if I was still teaching I would be headed to my Witch Hat class. It’s Sat Oct 4 in Gouldsboro and Thursday Oct 15 @ebbandflowfiberarts in Blue Hill. Sofina had the great idea of making space for kids because frankly, just about everyone secretly wants a witch hat and making your own is magical.
That reminded me of how I want to make the magic and power of sewing more accessible. If you have ideas for kid classes or parent/kid classes let Sofina or me know, we both are on a mission to share the joy of needle and thread ⭐️🧵 taken in Dulse & Rugosa by @dulseandrugosa

Posting a bit of JOY as the world feels real heavy today
We are lucky in Maine to have @commongroundcountryfair which was last weekend I hope everyone involved had a good time- the organizers, volunteers, vendors, performers and teachers as well as fair goers. It’s such a great event
We did not go this year cause Carly hurt her back and couldn’t get off the island. So, I ended up with free time. I could have been responsible and done stuff as I’m behind in everything but instead I completed a dream I’ve had for a while. I am lovin my flowers!!! by @dulseandrugosa
