If you know, you know. 🍃Warak enab is more than just food. It’s a tradition, a labor of love, and a ritual shared across so many Arab families. My parents grow their own grapevines just so they can harvest the leaves. On special occasions, the whole family gathers to roll warak enab together—one leaf at a time, one conversation at a time. That’s why I love what @habibi.you.know creates. They have a beautiful way of celebrating the small moments that make Arab culture feel like home. The traditions, the details, the memories that connect generations. What a gift. 🥹 Thank you so much @jessxrees & @imadelrayess by @dumanichso

MANZUR — between view and visionThis series explores the boundaries we create to orient, protect, and define ourselves—and the moments when those boundaries begin to blur, revealing new connections. Each work stands on its own, with its own form and identity. May, you were full. 🤍May is always a month of celebrations for us. So many of the people closest to my heart have their birthdays around this time — including my hubby @frieder_dillmann and our sweet little boy.My husband and I love bringing people together, so there was a lot of celebrating with family and friends (and yes, some birthdays were celebrated more than once 🙈). I love this time of year because it gives me the chance to spend so much time with the people I care about most.Alongside all of that, I had the honor of becoming part of the exhibition Sammlung Holle @kunstraumpotsdam . A truly special moment for me. @margarita.holle.08 and @christian_holle are remarkable people in the art world. @salondergegenwart 🫰🏽 The exhibition is open until June 5th, so if you’re in Potsdam, make sure to stop by.At the beginning of May, I was invited to speak about my artistic practice at the @dlcartlab @muthesiuskunsthochschulekiel as part of the KI Salon. I also shared a new and very personal step in my work: bringing my physical artworks back into the digital world. I’m excited to continue this journey and will share more soon. The month was also filled with inspiring projects — from exploring moor landscapes and mosses for a new artistic collaboration with @gallery_cubeplus @shishi_hey , to completing an exhibition design for the Medical and Pharmaceutical History Museum in Kiel.I also hosted another tufting workshop @studio_superloop , something I always enjoy. Sharing the technique and seeing others discover its creative potential is incredibly rewarding. As a mother, designer & artist, documenting my work often comes second to creating it. This month, I made a conscious effort to share more of my process and finished pieces — and I’d like to continue doing that. And finally, I returned to a passion project with an incredibly talented illustrator that had been waiting for far too long. More on that very soon. 🫰🏽Thank you, May. 🫰🏽🌸 by @dumanichso

14 days of tufting condensed into a few seconds. 🪄What you don’t see are all the pauses in between.Since I work from the back to the front, I constantly need to stop, walk around, observe, and decide what each area needs — which color, which yarn, which texture, which height. These decisions are a huge part of the process and mostly happen intuitively while making. It means constantly rebuilding my tufting guns, adjusting needle heights, changing directions… and sometimes completely rethinking and correcting parts again. Many of these surfaces then need precise shaping afterwards to make the forms and emotions I want to express feel clearer and more alive.I genuinely enjoy all of these moments and intentionally take my time with them.Even for me, with a little distance, it’s always fascinating to see how something so special can emerge from a sketch paired with so much wool. This is only the first of five works created for this installation in collaboration with @gfg_gestaltung 🫰🏽#textileart #tuftingart #interiordesign #contemporaryart #tufting by @dumanichso

Everything starts with tracing paper.Layer by layer, sketch by sketch, shapes slowly find each other and grow into a composition ✨A little glimpse into the process.I always need something nearby to draw on — most of the time in my beautiful daylight studio @studio_superloop . And sometimes our coffee table turns into a tiny shared art space, where my son and I sit and create side by side 💕 by @dumanichso

Nari — ناري my fireThe wool moves from background to foreground, merging front and back until the boundaries dissolve.Breaking out of its own form, the piece becomes three-dimensional — like something internal pushing outward. 🔥On view from 30.05. as part of the Sammlung Holle exhibition @salondergegenwart @kunstraumpotsdam 🙏🏾NARIHandtufted wool / acrylic / mirror30 × 45 cm#textileartist #contemparyart #sdg by @dumanichso

❤️❤️❤️English Version:Tile 1: POV: Going to pick up bread rolls with your four-year-old son and being called a “damn foreigner.”Tile 2: This morning on Ascension Day, I went to get bread rolls with my four-year-old son. On the way back, we made a small stop at the Europaplatz to look at the water channels. My son was completely fascinated by where the water comes from and where it flows. A perfectly normal situation. A mother with her child.Tile 3: Then suddenly a person cycled slowly past us, looked at us, shook their head and said: “Damn foreigners.” I just stood there. Speechless. The person rode on and only seconds later could I react. I called after them and asked what their problem was. They then turned around and came back toward us.Tile 4: In that moment I automatically positioned myself protectively in front of my child. I asked again what their problem with us was. When the person realized I obviously spoke “German” more fluently than they had expected, they turned away again and gave us the middle finger. I could only shout “Damn Nazi!” after them. I found no more words. I was so surprised, so angry, and at the same time occupied with protecting my child.… more in comments by @dumanichso

There’s something special about seeing your work in a group exhibition — it takes on a new life in dialogue with others. ✨This one felt particularly exciting. The incredibly talented curator @bywillemijn brought together a show in a space where diverse materials and structures naturally meet: the beautiful @moodsconcepts showroom near Rotterdam, known for their exceptional ceramic tiles and extraordinary colours. The setting itself became part of the work — and I’m so grateful to have been part of it. 🙌🏽#groupexhibition #contemporaryart #ceramics #moodsconcepts #rotterdam curatedexhibition artinstallation showroom by @dumanichso

Earlier this year I created a room installation for a corporate recruiting space. Five locations, five parts of one company’s identity, layered into a pattern that is still a map — but no longer fixed to any single place. That felt right for a recruiting room. A space where people arrive with their own identity, asking themselves: do I belong here? What made this project work was the trust. The client gave me complete artistic freedom — and so did the incredible team at @gfg_gestaltung . So much gratitude to Ole Bergmann and Maren Weinberg for creating a collaboration that made this possible. There is a lot more of this story to share soon. 👀📸 @gfg_gestaltung by @dumanichso

On Wednesday evening, I had the honour of speaking at the KI Salon of @dlcartlab @muthesiuskunsthochschulekiel — sharing how I work at the intersection of emotion, artificial intelligence, and traditional craft. My practice begins with emotional prompts: feelings, memories, inner states translated into language. From there, AI generates structures and images — which I then redraw, reinterpret, and reimagine by hand. The process ends with traditional craft techniques, giving the work a tactile, physical form. AI art you actually want to touch. At the heart of my work lies a question I have been sitting with for a long time: what happens when physically tangible art becomes digital? Can it take on new forms and dimensions? Can it tell a different story? Can it offer us a deeper understanding of what a work of art truly means? Here you can see what Midjourney and KlingAI made of my work Royah — sign in a dream and I still find the result quietly breathtaking.Thank you so much for the invitation, @annikafrye & @muffelmannanke . It was a genuine honour. 🙏 by @dumanichso
