Dance wrapped 🪩

I don’t think I can fully explain what dance has meant to me. Looking back at the last few years, I’m just grateful that through every season of life, I kept dancing. It made me happy, gave me a way to express myself, and became such a constant part of who I am.

And it gave me so much more than I ever expected. 🪎 I got to travel, perform, teach, choreograph, go on TV, do interviews, work with incredible artists and creatives, meet people I once watched from a distance, and experience moments I never imagined for myself. I even got recognised in the street a bunch of times, which still feels CRAZY to say #celeb 🤣 And mind you, I did all this in a whole different country where English isn’t even the lingua franca!

When I watch these videos now, I don’t just see dances. I see different versions of myself, the people I met, the places I went, and all the little moments that made these years so full💎

I’m entering a new chapter, and I don’t know exactly what my relationship with dance will look like going forward. I’ll definitely keep dancing because I can barely stand still 😂but professionally, things may look very different for a while. And that’s okay.

Maybe this is goodbye to a chapter, rather than goodbye to dance.

Thank you to God for the gift and for every door it opened. Thank you to my family, teachers, fellow dancers, friends, @magicmovs and everyone who ever watched, supported, encouraged, booked, shared, or cheered me on. 🤍

I’m incredibly grateful I got to live this life, and that dance was such a big part of it🥂

I think about the little girl who danced with her siblings, performed at every family event, practiced Matt Steffanina routines, became co-captain of her school’s modern dance club, and imagined herself dancing on a huge stage somewhere in the world without knowing how she’d ever get there.

Somehow, it happened, just in ways she could never have imagined.

Little me would be so proud🥹
