they’re the first songs we composed together when we first started out together, we were still trying to find our sound amidst our different influences. the main thing we wanted was this diy/messy feel to it and everything done at home. i think in the past i was too precious with everything i created, like it forever needed to be workshopped, i was too scared to finish anything, and with this specific project, i really wanted to let that feeling go and just create for the fun of it rather than anticipating the outcome. that influenced the writing too, this fear of stagnation due to indecisiveness, this itch for connection.

we started the project barely a year ago after a random jam session. i felt a little intimidated at first bc i had never released anything but had so much i wanted to let out, but creating together felt so natural & encouraging and it’s almost surreal to think we’ve finally released our first few songs :’))

& thank you for having been so sweet at every show and with every comment, and your warmth since the first demos,

new photos!! don’t know what the computer is doing there tbh but we went with it. took these on the set of our music video for our single called ‘dumb american’
out september 8th :))))))

and our first EP comes out september 26th!!!! 💛💛💛

Hier soir, à la billetterie, un habitué du Chichi nous à glissé : « C’est les nouveaux The Kills ! »

Lowertown, c’est deux kids d’Atlanta, aujourd’hui basé·es à New York, qui ont grandi sur les forums Reddit et dans les caves moites de la scène punk DIY. Après avoir frôlé l’épuisement, Olivia Osby et Avsha Weinberg reviennent avec “Ugly Duckling Union”, un album-concept aussi barré que brillant.

Folk bricolée, indie rock rêveuse, expérimentations et humour noir : le duo transforme le chaos post-internet en manifeste pour tous les freaks, les weirdos et les laissé·es-pour-compte.

Pour leur première date en headline à Paris, iels seront accompagnés par les locaux de Dum Supplement, le duo formé par Tala Elamine et Gabriel Peyrieux.

Une voix douce posée sur des guitares garage, des mélodies planantes et nostalgiques, et cette étrange sensation d'écouter à la fois un vieux disque de Cat Power, un Sonic Youth passé au ralenti et un morceau fantôme de Young Marble Giants.

concert au truskel le 11 septembre !!!! venez voir les memes sets dans un ordre différent !!! + des snacks de carrefour à volonté (3 boîtes de cookies et 2 sachets entamés de bonbons + coca tiède) (mais il y a un bar aussi)

we finished recording our EP this week that we’re releasing in september :’)
5 songs with lots of sweat and stress-induced murder attempts that went into the process

Dans un peu plus d’un mois, on accueillera les Chicagoans de Ratboys ! Leur dernier album déborde de micro-tubes de power pop pétillante, de ballades touchantes et de détours post-country irrésistibles.

Pour ouvrir la soirée, les locaux de Dum Supplement. Un tout nouveau groupe qu’on a découvert grâce à une petite annonce — pour trouver un·e batteur·euse — déposée au Chichi.

Finalement, le batteur trouvé n’est pas resté. Ça arrive. Quoi qu’il en soit, on a très hâte de les découvrir sur scène. Et de revoir Ratboys.

Update: changement de lieu mais tout le reste est pareil :)
((!!!!)) on sera dans le sous-sol du truskel 😏😏😏 au frais)

(En plein milieu des vacances donc il risque de pas y avoir un rat à paris mais il y aura la clim + des cacahuètes avec chaque verres + un petit stand-up de loulou baltrink après 5 pintes
