Always good to get out from behind the desk!

We were up @portmarnockresort recently meeting a group of clients and got the chance to spend some time around the property and play a few holes on @jamesongolflinks while I was there.

It really is a great setup for a golf trip to Dublin. You’ve got a proper links course right on the doorstep, the sea beside you and some of the best golf in the area only a short drive away.

Great to meet the group of guys from Rhode Island, great to get out for a few holes, and always good to experience the places we’re recommending for ourselves.

Links golf is just special.

It’s a completely different challenge to the more common parkland settings, but you just have to embrace it.

We had an unreal day @dooksgolflinks last week. The course was in great nick, and the views across Dingle Bay and the Kerry mountains are hard to beat.

It’s a bit less talked about than some of the bigger names in the southwest, but it’s one we always love to include on a client’s journey through the region. A little more understated and a little less flashy. We love that.

Thanks to Chiara and the team for looking after us. We’ll be back very shortly.

The gig scene in Ireland is really special.

@yevagabonds played a few nights in @connollysofleap last week and they were simply class.

The intimacy of the venue made it feel more like being invited into someone’s living room than going to a concert.

The music was incredible, but what really stood out was the connection between the band and the room. The chat between songs and the singalongs made the performance even more powerful.

Ireland is full of places like this. You don’t have to be someone who goes to gigs every weekend to enjoy them, but whenever you get the chance go for it.

It’s another small part of Irish life that makes this island so special.

A great way to spend a Saturday morning in West Cork is to wander around Skibbereen Farmers’ Market.

Yes, you’ll find some incredible local produce, artisan food and crafts, but that’s only part of what makes it special.

It’s the conversations. Catching up with familiar faces. Meeting the people behind the produce. Supporting local businesses and seeing the community come together.

For anyone visiting Ireland, it’s one of the simplest ways to experience everyday Irish life. No ticket required, no itinerary, just a chance to slow down, soak up the atmosphere and connect with a place through the people who live there.

Places like this are a big part of what makes Ireland so special.

What an unbelievable experience it was to attend @themasters this week. It’s one of the most surreal places I’ve ever visited and even with high expectations going in they were well surpassed.

I don’t think we realise how lucky we are as Irish golf fans and there’s nearly a feeling of All-Ireland Final Day with both Shane and Rory well in contention this evening.

Enjoy what’s sure to be another rollercoaster of a ride at Augusta National today.

A caddy is a great companion to spend a bit of time with on your trip to Ireland.

You’re out there for four or five hours, walking the course together - chatting about golf, life, family, Ireland, and everything in between.

Caddies know every inch of the place. The reads, the wind, the stories behind each hole. But more than that, it’s the conversation and connection that stay with you.

This photo was taken when I was caddying @oldheadgolflinks with a great man, Tom McCoy. We’re still in touch to this day - and he’s hoping to make it back to Ireland next year for the @therydercup.

It’s something we always recommend to our guests. If you want to experience Ireland properly, this adds another layer to any trip.

It really is all about the connection. The local connection.

We were lucky enough to spend a few nights @armadaspanishpoint last week - and it’s genuinely a special place.

Right on the edge of the Atlantic, with nothing between you and the sea. No towns, no traffic - just coastline and open water.

Spanish Point beach is literally on the doorstep. Lahinch and Doonbeg are just up and down the road (both offering great golf), while the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher are within easy reach.

The food throughout was top notch - fresh, local produce done properly, with a real focus on Irish suppliers.

But what really stood out was the hospitality…

A warm cookie and milk for the kids on arrival. Irish cream and chocolates waiting in the room. Genuine, thoughtful service from start to finish.

It’s the kind of place that makes slowing down very easy - away from the usual rush of daily life.

A brilliant base for exploring the West of Ireland.

A busy few days put down last week.

Radio Row in San Francisco with @irishnflshow around the Super Bowl, followed by a few days in Vancouver meeting some great people across the travel, golf and hospitality sectors.

There was a bit of golf, a few pints, some jet lag… and plenty of good conversations along the way.

Representing your own business abroad is something I don’t take lightly. It was a very proud week.

That said, there’s nothing quite like getting home to family either.

Grateful for the opportunity and for everyone who made it possible. 🇮🇪🇺🇸🇨🇦
