Jessy DUNGA @dunga_art is a Congolese visual artist born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He holds a Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor +4 equivalent) in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Kinshasa and currently lives and works in Kinshasa. His artistic practice explores the human condition through a visual language that oscillates between symbolism and realism. Using materials such as coffee, charcoal, and acrylic paint, he highlights vivid scenes drawn from everyday life. His work conveys the silence, wounds, and hopes of the people he portrays. Through his artworks, Jessy creates a duality—a space where emptiness and hope coexist—transforming the canvas into a site of memory and resilience.

Rooted in a personal experience shaped by absence and presence,
this work opens up to multiple forms of relationships.

The bodies become sites of a silent memory,
marked by restraint and continuity.
