Cover reveal for Rooted in Dusk by @remiryanbooks cover done by @wavyhues I love when covers are whimsical Blurb: Born to be a sacrifice, Guinevere has spent her life trapped inside a tower, awaiting her premature death. With the war between Elves and Fae long since ended, the curse on her bloodline remains the price to keep her realm safe and the power-hungry Fae at bay. But on the afternoon of her twenty-fifth birthday, Guinevere is visited by an enchanting creature who draws out the dark monster lingering under her skin—one she’s been determined to keep buried. That is until she discovers this creature is keeping her mysterious fated mate a prisoner. Thrown into a desperate race to save Castian alongside Finn, her loyal and charming knight, they soon learn there is a much greater threat tangled within the realm's roots—and Castian is not the only one who needs saving. Forced to confront her growing feelings for Finn and her emerging obsession with Castian, Guinevere finds herself pitted against the opposing sides of her nature and the two men in her life who have offered her freedom. All while the curse waits patiently to be fed its next sacrifice. @iris.influencer.society #romantasy #coverreveal #indieauthorsupport #bookishcommunity #bookworm by @dunkkilarra

Finished this one the other day and I'm already going through book 2. Oblivion's Hymn by @cozywritingdragon was a really fun intro to the world where Mimics are hunted and magic comes from making bargains with gods. I definitely got the Treasure Planet vibes, and I can only hope book 2 keeps expanding on that. I love Echo so much, she just wants to play music in a world that doesn't want her. But she keeps going. And she finds friends along the way that love her and accept her for what she is. It got really touching at times and it made you really understand her fears of getting rejected. This book is already out, and book 2 comes out TOMORROW! Ugh I can't wait to get back to reading. 🎷🎷🎷🎷/5 <3 thanks to @rattlethestarspr for the ARC opportunity! #bookworm #arcreaders #EpicFantasy #BookReview #indieauthorsupport by @dunkkilarra

If this is your vibe, then Where the Gods Rot by @authorlaurenmorrison is the next book that should be on your TBR. It's a perfect story for Spooktober and it's officially coming out oct 13. #wherethegodsrot #laurenmorrison #southerngothichorror #irisinfluencersociety #bookworm by @dunkkilarra

Quick spooky break for some hot romantasy!! 🩸🩸🩸🩸/5 Feral Born by @authorkvmeadows is a gothic shifter romance. Vampires, spellcasters, werewolves, and more! The FMC is a vampire/lycan hybrid (who shouldn't exist) and the MMC is a lycan that just lost his brother to a ruthless disease. How convenient that Aura is researching it to find a cure... I only wish this book was longer, or for a sequel right now. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but maybe it does? I want to know more about where Aura and Sylvan end up after the dust settles. Definitly add to your TBR if the above calls to you, it comes out on oct 12! @iris.influencer.society is the best at giving us the opportunity to read those amazing stories. Spooktober is here! And here's a book i think deserves 5 stars Where the Gods Rot by @authorlaurenmorrison was a super creepy read, with lots of body horror and a weird fungus that takes control over people. Malinna and Rauth must go through the swamp to look for Malinna's sister. The swamp feels wrong, creatures are warped, and there's a party of people roaming. It feels very grumpy x sunshine, with Rauth thinking everyone is out to get him (they kind of are...😂) and when you think the story is all that ends well, it's not. Truly a fun read, and it's gonna be part of a series 👀 @iris.influencer.society #indieauthorsupport #bookishcommunity #bookworm #arcreaders by @dunkkilarra

Spooky season requires horror books. After reading Withered, this one was the one to scratch the itch i didn't know i had. Don't let the forest in was so good, filled with beautiful and vivid descriptions (and look at that cover!!). Something happened over the summer, and now the trio of friends is fractured, monsters are coming out of the woods, and parents are missing. And i'm not one to give too much attention to specific sentences in books, but these were so good: - But his ribs were a cage for monsters and they cut their teeth on his bones. - He needed Thomas, needed their lungs sewn inside each other so he could remember how to breathe. #HorrorBooks #dontlettheforestin #cgdrews #bookworm #bookcommunity by @dunkkilarra

This week, I got accepted into @m.g.mccartywrites’s ARC Team for her upcoming adult fantasy, “Embers From the Fall.” Here's a blurb: Elaina Dairik ran through most of her life honoring The First and waiting for her Forging Day as most young Demanie did. Now, newly forged within the fires of the Gods and writhing with magic of the land, tradition and duty call her towards the Eastern Grove Training Center to train to fight against the Creatures of the Dark plaguing her universe. But her magic, and the Gods, are different than she expected… Be sure to follow @rattlethestarspr and @m.g.mccartywrites for upcoming announcements and promotions! #MGMcCarty #RattletheStarsPR #Fantasy #LGBTQIA #arcreaders by @dunkkilarra

Taking a break and going through my physical TBR. Since it's september, it means it's spooky season and I read Withered from AGA Wilmot. The book says it's a psychological horror, but I felt like it was more of a mystery with psychological elements. I still liked it very much. It's the first book I read with a non-binary character and the writing was pretty interesting. Took me a couple of chapters before getting used to it, but it felt nice to read in such a different way. The descriptions in the book are so vivid that I could have been watching a movie. And the cover makes sense halfway through the story. I totally need to see some of the art described in real life, cause it sounds so ominous. Little blurb: Ellis and their mom move to her old town to get a fresh start after the death of their father. But everyone in town says the house is haunted. That's crazy right?? But what if it was.... People don't seem to die in this town, while all around it, cemeteries are being filled. Oh and did I mention the author is Canadian? Supporting local is even better. Should I start House of Leaves or Don't let the forest in next? #bookworm #bookcommunity #psychologicalhorrorbook #mysterybooks #canadianauthor by @dunkkilarra
