POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A true Queen doesn’t wait to be crowned she claims her space. With every move, I embodied power, poise, and purpose. My reign as Miss WSSU was a checkmate in legacy

To My Illustrious University,
Serving as the 85th Miss Winston-Salem State University has been one of the greatest honors of my life. This wasn’t just a title it was a calling I embraced with my whole heart. I wore the crown not for the shine, but for the service, the legacy, and the love I gave in every moment.
This experience changed me it made me stronger, wiser, and prouder of the woman I’m becoming.
To My Royal Court,
You were more than just a court. You were my family. Thank you for holding space for me to be raw, real, and fully myself. In your presence, I found safety, laughter, joy, and a kind of belonging I’ve never known. You gave me memories I’ll carry for a lifetime, and love I will never forget.
To the Queen and King in My Corner — Kambre @iamkvm & Taylor @ms.royaltay
Your presence in my reign was a blessing I never saw coming but always needed. Thank you for showing up for the hugs, the phone calls, the advice, and the truth. I watched how you moved, how you led, how you loved and I prayed I made you proud. I hope my reign reflects just a glimpse of the excellence you both poured into me.
To the 86th and the 51st
I cannot wait to see both of you step fully into your light, to lead with grace, and shine in ways the world has yet to witness. You are everything this moment needs and more.
I’ll be in your corner, always.

Momma, look! I’m grown now ❤️
Today, I stand as the third person in our entire family to earn a college degree, but this moment isn’t mine alone. This moment is ours.
I owe everything to the woman who walked before me, cleared the path with grace, grit, and God you, Mommy❤️
You were the first to break the cycle.
The first to choose the hard road of higher education when easier roads called your name.
Because you dared to dream, I learned how to chase mine
Every late-night phone call, every word of encouragement, every time you held me up when I wanted to fall apart you were there.
Freshman year was scary, and I was unsure of myself, but your love never wavered.

Even when we moved seven hours apart my sophomore year you still showed up. Always. Somehow, some way, you made sure I never felt alone.

Mommy, you are my forever inspiration.
Because of you, I didn’t just survive college I thrived.
Because of you, I didn’t stop at a degree I reached higher, because you poured it into me.
So this degree? This milestone?
It’s not just mine. It’s yours too
We came. We saw. And together… we conquered.
I love you more than words can say.
Thank you, Mommy. Always. ❤️

80% of teachers are White. Only 6% are Black.
Yet research shows that just one Black teacher by third grade makes Black students:
•7% more likely to graduate high school
•13% more likely to enroll in college
And two Black teachers? That number jumps to 32%.

Do you see why Black teachers matter?
Soon, I’ll be in a classroom making an impact—not just teaching, but inspiring. I have the privilege of being a reflection of what Black students can see, become, and believe in.

I won’t just be an educator.
For some, I may be the only “I love you” they hear, the only hug they receive, the only person who makes sure they eat a real lunch (not Takis or Hot Cheetos)
I may be the only one who reminds them there’s a whole world of wonder waiting for them—and that they belong in it.
My job isn’t to tell children what to be, but to show them what’s possible.
“Be the teacher that sees the light in a student when others only see disruption and inconvenience.”
