Stills from the documentary "Nilgiris: Customs and Culturescapes" with @inheritbyashoka | May 2024

One of the most challenging films from the series that I had the chance to make.

Hilly forest paths, heavy equipment, leeches, honeybee stings, and a landscape that seemed to demand as much from us as it gave back.

A film that explores the delicate connection between landscape, culture, and the lives that exist within it.

We were fortunate to be welcomed into the worlds of the Irula, Alu Kurumba, and Toda communities to hear their stories and witness their relationship with nature.

Humbling, and quite literally a product of blood, sweat, and tears!

Stills from my first documentary on culinary heritage with @inheritbyashoka

"Leaf Wrapped Cooking: Kaziranga and Mangalore" | January & March 2024

This was unlike anything I'd made before, and it changed the way I looked at food forever.

We weren't just following recipes or chefs; we were tracing the quiet ways food carries culture. Every region and community had its own ingredients and styles, every family its own touch, yet there was something beautifully universal that connected them all.

A film truly filled with warmth: both on screen and throughout the journey of making it.

So lately I have had a decent amount of Opportunities to work with Comedians and Akash Gupta was one of those. One of the funniest comedians in my opinion whose body language will tickle your funny bones for sure!! I am so glad to have worked on this project as a 2nd AC and a Camera Operator under the careful watch of Jitu Sir, Siddhart Vasani (DOP) along with several other talented camera operators.

Boats, mud, boat-to-boat filming, and nights glowing with bioluminescence. Chaotic, challenging, but easily one of the most dynamic shoots in the whole journey!

As we were shooting the documentaries for season 02 on textiles heritage in the past few months, our season 01 documentaries were being screened across the globe at multiple film festivals.
From Korea to Kerala, and London, US, Assam, Madurai, to Mumbai; they also received 2 more awards.

Our documentary "Thar: Sacred Groves and Waterscapes" got the Jury Special Award at Culture Cinema, Mumbai.
And our entire series "Natural and Culinary heritage of India", received the Best Series Award at Docuworld Film Festival, London.

Congratulations and Big Thanks to the entire team behind these wonderful films!
