Some days, “I will fear no evil” is a prayer you have to pray through tears.

Whatever valley you’re walking through today, God is with you. You can bring Him your fear, your questions, and the things you don’t have words for yet.

Father, help us trust You in the middle of what we don’t understand. Give us strength for today and peace as we take the next step. Remind us that You are near. Amen.

Faith over hustle.

For years I did it backwards. I chased the income, the success, the respect, and then asked God to bless what I was already chasing.

He kept saying the same thing: seek Me first.

Send this to a friend who needs the reminder today.

Back under the bar. 🏋️‍♂️

Couple months ago I broke a vertebra and herniated some discs. Two straight weeks flat on my back in serious pain. Couldn’t train. Couldn’t do much of anything.

Monday the doctor gave me the word: no surgery. Just recover and move.

So this is day one. Light push/pull in the garage. Nothing heavy. Nothing impressive. Just moving.

Here’s what those weeks taught me: you don’t have to be where you were to take the next step. Some seasons knock you flat. Literally. The answer isn’t to wait until you feel 100%. It’s to do what you can today and let God handle what you can’t.

If you’re walking through something hard right now — your body, your marriage, your faith, your work — keep moving. Small reps still count. Recovery is still progress.

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:31

And if you need prayer, drop a comment or DM me. I’ll pray for you right now. 🙏

I hear some version of it almost every time a man sits down across from me. The business works. The house is paid down. People respect him. And he says it quietly, like he’s confessing something:

“I built a great life and I’m empty.”

That isn’t ingratitude. It’s a signal.

Solomon had more than any man of his day and wrote that it was all vapor, a chasing after wind (Ecclesiastes 2:11).

The emptiness is God getting your attention, not God punishing you.

If that’s you, you’re not broken. You’re at a crossroads.

For over 25 years I’ve sat across the table from men. Pastors, business owners and leaders who did everything right. And so many of them have told me the same thing:

“I built a great life, but I’m empty.”

If that’s you, you’re not broken. You’re being invited.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

No amount of success can fill a space God made for Himself. St. Augustine said it 1,600 years ago: “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”

Full Life, Empty Heart is a four-week guide to help you find clarity, peace and purpose for your next season. Link in bio.

Moses split the Red Sea. He ate bread that fell from heaven, and he talked with God face to face.

And one evening his father-in-law sat him down and said, "What you are doing is not good. You will wear yourself out. You are not able to do it alone." (Exodus 18:17-18)

Jethro wasn't smarter than Moses. He just stood far enough outside the situation to see what Moses couldn't see from inside it.

Every man needs that person, someone close enough to see your life and honest enough to tell you the truth about it.

Who is that for you? Drop his first name below, then go thank him this week. by @dustindsample

25 years.

September 23, 2001
I married Monica.

And somehow 25 years went by way too fast.

I can genuinely say I love this woman more today than I did when I first met her. And I think she is more beautiful today than she was then. That’s not a lie and it’s not just something old guys are supposed to say after 25 years. I mean it.

The Bible says, “It is not good that the man should be alone.” Genesis 2:18

And Proverbs 18:22 says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”

I found a good thing.

We’ve actually been married twice.

The first time I married Monica I loved her, but I really had no idea what I was doing. I knew how to be married. I didn’t know how to be a husband.

Years later God gave me a revelation of what it actually meant to be a husband. So I proposed to her again. And we got married again. We renewed our vows because this time I understood the covenant I was making.

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” Ephesians 5:25

That changed everything for me.

Marriage wasn’t about what I could get from Monica. It was about laying my life down for her.

And something beautiful happened.

When I started laying my life down for my wife, she started laying her life down for me.

And over the years God has taken two people with two sets of dreams, ambitions, opinions, emotions, desires and plans and taught us how to become two surrendered vessels building ONE unified life.

Not losing who we are. Becoming who we were always supposed to be together.

25 years later, she is still my best friend. My ride or die. My partner. The woman I want beside me for all of it.

Monica, I would choose you again.

And apparently I already did.

Happy 25th anniversary to us.

I love you more today than I did then.

And I’m still laying my life down for you. taken in Spicewood, Texas by @dustindsample

I’m not here to tell you how to live your life.

I don’t have 7 steps to success.
I’m not going to give you 5 habits that will finally make you happy.

There are plenty of books, podcasts, and influencers for that.

What I do is different.

I help you discover the life that’s already inside of you.

The life you were created to live.

Because I believe you were created on purpose, with purpose, for a purpose.

But somewhere along the way, life happens.

Expectations.
Disappointment.
Failure.
Success.
Responsibilities.
Other people’s definitions of who you should be.

And eventually, you can wake up living a life that looks successful from the outside while knowing deep down:

There has to be more than this.

My job isn’t to give you my answers.

It’s to ask the questions that help you uncover your God-given identity, purpose, values, gifts, and calling—and then have the courage to actually live from them.

I don’t tell you what life you should live.

I help you discover the life you were always meant to live.

It’s not about becoming someone else.

It’s about uncovering who God created you to be.

If you know there’s more inside of you, but you haven’t been able to name it or live it yet…

I love reading the book of Acts.

Stories of ordinary men and women filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly preaching Jesus, healing the sick, hearing the voice of God, being led by the Spirit, and watching lives transformed by the power of God.

But I don’t want to read Acts like it’s only a history book.

I want to live it.

Jesus said:

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses…” — Acts 1:8

The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early Church is still empowering believers today.

When we are born again, the Holy Spirit dwells IN us.

But Scripture also speaks about the Holy Spirit coming UPON us with power to accomplish the mission Jesus gave us.

I’ve heard it said this way:

He is IN us for us.
He comes UPON us for others.

Power to witness.
Power to serve.
Power to minister.
Power to boldly proclaim Jesus.
Power to live beyond what we can accomplish in our own strength.

The Church doesn’t need better performances.

We don’t need more information without transformation.

We need the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4

So I’m going to keep getting in this Word.

And while I read about what the Holy Spirit did through believers 2,000 years ago, my prayer is:

Holy Spirit, do it again.

Fill Your Church.
Empower Your people.
Make us bold witnesses for Jesus.

We don’t just want to read Acts.

We want to live it.

NEVER MISS A MONDAY.

Not because Monday is magical.

Because how you start matters.

3 rounds:
500m Row
40 Sit-Ups
30 DB Snatches @ 50#

Then finish it with a max set of strict pull-ups.

You don’t have to feel motivated.
You don’t have to feel ready.

Just show up.

Discipline is built one decision at a time. And sometimes the most important decision you make all week is the one you make on Monday morning.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23

Set the tone.
Do the work.
Honor God with the body He gave you.

Never miss a Monday.

We all hit barriers we can’t break through on our own.

Sometimes you need outside help.

A pastor.
A mentor.
A coach.
A counselor.
A business professional.

I have coaches in my life, and I believe in coaching.

But here’s what I want you to understand:

Being out of shape may not actually be your problem.

It may just be the fruit of the real problem.

You can hire the best fitness coach in the world. Get the perfect macros. Follow the perfect program. Buy the supplements. Make another New Year’s resolution.

But if you never deal with why you stopped taking care of yourself in the first place, eventually you’ll end up right back where you started.

“I’m too old.”

“I don’t have time.”

“This is just who I am now.”

“I’ll start Monday.”

“I’ve tried before. Nothing works.”

Those aren’t just excuses.

Somewhere underneath them may be a lie you’ve started believing about yourself and your life.

And until you get to the root, you’ll keep fighting the fruit.

Sometimes you need someone outside of your life to help you see what you can’t see for yourself.

Yes, get a fitness coach.

But don’t just change your body.

Get to the root of what’s happening in your soul.

Because when you discover who God created you to be and start living from that truth, you’ll begin taking care of yourself from the inside out.

If you’re tired of saying, “I’ll start Monday,” let’s figure out why Monday never comes.
