A lot of people love the spotlight.
Very few love the sacrifice attached to it.

Football gave LeRon McCoy opportunities, lessons, discipline, relationships, and perspective. But his message cuts deeper than sports:

If you stop taking your craft seriously, somebody else will take your spot seriously for you.

The game moves on.
Business moves on.
Life moves on.

The people who last are usually the ones who stayed committed long after the applause disappeared. Humanity really built entire industries around shortcuts and then acts confused when consistency wins again. Remarkable species.

Legacy isn’t built off talent alone.

College sports has been a business for generations. For athletes, it’s been a business for about three years. That’s why so many people get played.

You’re stepping into a marketplace where the schools have lawyers, sponsors, systems, and leverage… and you’ve got talent, pressure, and a group chat.

That’s what LeRon meant by ‘grossly outmatched.’
Not because athletes aren’t valuable, but because most athletes aren’t equipped.

If you’re an athlete (or a parent): treat NIL like a company launch.
Build the team. Learn the rules. Read before you sign. Pay your taxes. Protect your name.
