@duunniee is a high-motor linebacker who is poised to have a big 2026 season. At 5’11” and 215 pounds, the Grambling State linebacker defies traditional measurables with elite instincts and a relentless playstyle. In 2025, Johnson became a defensive anchor in the SWAC, logging 49 tackles, which ranked 2nd for Grambling State. His pinnacle performance earned him SWAC Defensive Player of the Week against Bethune-Cookman, where he wrecked the game with 9 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Technical Breakdown:

The first thing that pops on tape is Johnson’s elite sideline-to-sideline pursuit speed. Johnson has a high-level snap anticipation to trigger downhill and shoot gaps like a heat-seeking missile. He weaponizes his height to win the leverage battle, sinking his hips to deliver serious pop upon contact and wrap up securely. Furthermore, he flashes great zone coverage awareness, keeping his eyes glued to the backfield to break on the ball.

However, his frame presents glaring NFL limitations. At 215 pounds, he is a block-slipper, not a block-shedder. If pulling guards establish their hands squarely on his chest, he can get washed out of the run play. Additionally, his turnover production is something I would like to see more of this coming year. In the last 2 years, Johnson has only had 1 INT and 1 FF.

NFL Outlook:

Johnson projects as a Day 3 - UDFA whose path to a 53-man roster relies on him being an absolute weapon on special teams. His reliance on elite gap-shooting and instincts to overcome a severe size disadvantage perfectly mirrors the journey of Ivan Pace Jr. Ideal landing spots include the Cincinnati Bengals or Buffalo Bills, two franchises that will be in need of MLBs in 2026. More specifically, for the Bills, Dorian Williams will be a Free Agent at the end of 2026. If Williams is not re-signed, I really like Johnson as a replacement for him in the Bills linebacker room. by @duunniee
