As another amazing season of our Free Soccer Program comes to an end, we want to thank every player and family who has been part of this journey. Your passion, commitment, and enthusiasm are what make this program so special year after year.A special thank you to Council Member Francisco Moya and our friends at Hispanic Federation for their continued trust and support in helping us bring this beautiful community program to life.Have an incredible summer filled with soccer, smiles, and dreams. We are proud to announce the appointment of Marc Barbero as our new Sporting Director, beginning in July 2026.For many in our community, Marc is already a familiar face. Between 2018 and 2020, he was an important part of DV7 Academy NY as a Head Coach, contributing to the development of our players and helping shape the culture and values that continue to define our academy today. Now, after several years of professional growth and leadership, Marc returns to DV7 to lead the next chapter of our sporting project.Originally from Blanes, Girona (Spain), Marc holds a Degree in Physical Education and Sports Science and a UEFA Pro License, bringing a comprehensive understanding of player development, coaching methodology, and sports education.Over the last five years, Marc has served as Technical Director and General Manager at LaLiga Academy New York, where he led the academy’s daily operations while overseeing a variety of international projects across Spain and South America. His experience managing coaches, players, programs, and strategic initiatives has established him as one of the most respected academy leaders in the youth soccer landscape.Marc’s return represents more than a new appointment, it is the return of someone who understands our identity, believes in our mission, and shares our commitment to developing not only better players, but better people. We are excited for the future and confident that Marc’s leadership, experience, and vision will help continue the growth of DV7 Academy NY in the years ahead.Please join us in welcoming Marc Barbero back to the DV7 family.Welcome home, Marc. Some people leave a mark through results. Others leave a mark through the people they help grow.Nadia and Vitor has done both. Today, we say thank you to two individuals who have played an extraordinary role in the history of DV7 Soccer Academy NY.Since joining the academy in 2019, Nadia and Vitor have been much more than coaches and leaders. They have been pillars of our community, helping shape the culture, values, and identity that define DV7 today.Together, they stood by the academy through some of the most challenging moments in our journey. From navigating the uncertainty of the pandemic to helping lead our community through the devastating loss of Luis Mazo in 2022, they demonstrated resilience, commitment and unwavering dedication when it mattered most.As Sporting Directors, Nadia and Vitor embraced the responsibility of guiding the academy forward, providing stability, vision, and leadership during a period of transition and growth. Their work helped strengthen every area of DV7.What truly sets them apart is the way they have impacted people. Through their passion, humility, professionalism, and genuine care for others, they built meaningful relationships with players, families, coaches, and staff, leaving a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside them.The success and reputation that DV7 enjoys today would not have been possible without their countless hours of hard work, sacrifice, professionalism and belief in our mission.While we are sad to see them move on, we are incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished together and grateful for the legacy they leave behind.On behalf of the entire DV7 family, thank you, Nadia and Vitor, for your leadership, friendship, and unwavering commitment throughout the years.
