Bye bye, July.

A month full of confrontations, frustrations, celebrations, reunions, and family.

A month that’s pushing me to make some important decisions. Not always easy, but necessary.

Grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and every person who was part of it.

Excited and frightened at the same time, but that’s usually a sign you’re moving in the right direction.

Here we are again, yet another “first month”. It’s ridiculous how you can keep falling into the exact same trap over and over again. 🪤

Still, this time it feels different (bets are open 😉). But seriously, I finally have a real goal: besides my mini retreat with Moonstone, I’ve now also given the green light this month to start building my Villa de Rijk.

On top of that, I’ve started taking peptides that boost my focus and suppress my ADHD in a natural way. It feels good. Life is smiling at me again.

My love will come join me here after she finishes her studies, a one-way ticket.

And all of this, achieved in just one month.

2026 is promising for me. Maybe not for the world (uh oh), but definitely for me.

It all started with a piece of land that suddenly became available. Some friends were already developing villas on Nusa Ceningan when their third partner pulled out. That left a small 600m² plot, enough space for three or four villas and an opportunity that instantly felt right.

For me, it was the perfect moment to start over. I’d wanted to leave the Netherlands for a while. Life had been turbulent, and I needed a serious reset. So I sold my house in Amsterdam, packed my things, and set off for Bali.

Our first idea was; a full “Biohack” Sanctuary with villas, rooms, a spa and a gym. But in hospitality, you hear the same thing again and again: don’t go too big too soon. This smaller piece on Ceningan felt like the perfect first step.
 Nusa Ceningan is still a hidden gem. It feels like Bali twenty years ago; calm, raw, and authentic. You can feel the energy shifting here; it’s still early, and that’s what makes it special. At high tide the lagoon turns bright turquoise, at low tide you see the seaweed farms that have been part of island life for generations.
 While we started this project, another opportunity appeared: a much larger 2,400m² plot right in front of ours. It’s the kind of space that could bring our full dream to life.
 Moonstone is a healing crystal, it stands for balance, intuition and new beginnings. That’s exactly what we’re creating: a place to recharge, reset and reconnect with yourself.
It also ties beautifully to this island. The tides here move with the moon, and at night you see the light reflecting over the lagoon, the stars above, and Bali’s mountains in the distance.

We set up our PT PMA (foreign investment company), I applied for my Investor KITAS.
We signed the agreements, sent our first 2 billion IDR deposit for a 30-year lease, and opened the company account. That’s when Moonstone officially became real.

Now we’re moving step by step; from dream to reality. Just wanted to give family, friends, old buddies, asholes, exes and Trump an update on this crazy man’s latest adventure. 🧡✌🏼🖕🏼 by @dwderijk
