Had an absolute blast with @noflylistband hitting the road last week🔥🔥🔥

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us and to @arlenesgrocery @conduit_fl @velocitymusicfest & @summerofsinsfest for getting sweaty with me.

My trusty @dingwallguitars SP-1 killed it at every show!

@otismcdonald has been for about the last year one of my favorite creators on this god forsaken app.

His producing, bass playing and just overall taste is so inspiring.

Here’s my take on his tune “Is This Jazz?”.

Introducing our bassist, @dwhitebass 👏
David enjoys slap bass, 5-string bass, fretless bass, and striped bass. Don’t forget to give David a big smooch on the top of his head at our next show, he deserves it.

Ps: Hope u like this lil sneak peak of one of our unreleased songs🙂‍↕️

“I Made This (No. 2)”

Flashback to when it was freezing cold and we weren’t all melting, I was in a big @thundercatmusic and @raphael_saadiq wormhole. Wanted to see what I could do with stacking bass parts.

Here’s what I came up with….

After playing 643 performances, my time on @hamiltonmusical comes to a close.

Endless gratitude to @alacamoire @mycleehrens & @m2musicnyc (as well as the social media-less #MattGallagher) for their trust and faith in me.

Thanks also to @jorscan , @mendelmusic and @richardhammondbass for their guidance and wisdom through it all.

To the countless band members I’ve gotten to share in this music with, a heartfelt thank you for bringing your entire soul to every performance.

To our incredible cast and crew, your professionalism and dedication to telling this story and bringing every ounce of your talents to every single show will never be forgotten.

As I’ve always said, it’s never “goodbye”, it’s just “I’ll see you on the next gig”.

I can’t wait to see you all again. ❤️

Funny story about @mwood2013, is that after months of us being on @hamiltonmusical together, we realized that I played her college showcase, the same college that my dad taught at, and that I started playing professionally. Otterbein University. When she asked me to play this tune, I laughed again explaining to her that in ANOTHER full circle moment, I played the tour of “Bridges Of Madison County” and it has and will remain to be one of my career highlights. Happy birthday to this anchor and this light. You’re a freaking rockstar!!

bday present to myself - doing something that scares me:
posting myself singing. And as silly as it sounds considering what I do for a living, it feels terrifying. The perfectionist in me is screaming but I’ve gotten a lot better at quieting my inner critic this past year. I’m not working towards perfection anymore. I’m working to be whole. At peace. Things that felt like an impossibility a year ago but are now in view. I love this song and I finally worked up the courage and begged @dwhitebass to play it for me (even though he did so hundreds of times on the tour). Thank you, friend.

The work continues. Huge thanks to those willing to stick around as I shed yet another skin and enter “another life” - the last one in my 20s! AHH •
