Pt. 2 - I hope I’m able to be a possibility model to anyone like myself who has ever been told that they couldn’t achieve, that they should give up; starting over is not a death sentence. Often times we have to be able to evaluate our circumstances and abilities to truly achieve the goals we set for ourselves. All it takes is some fine-tuning and self-compassion.

Pt. 3 - BIGGER! I am truly bigger than what I’ve been through. This degree is bigger than me! I hope I am able to open doors for people in the same that way doors have been opened for me to even get this degree.

As the year comes to close I want to post my favorite memory of the year. This was one of the biggest and most emotional parts of my life, and I can’t wait to achieve more in the new year and thereafter. 🥂 taken in University of South Florida by @dwologist

Pt. 1 - In ONE week, I will officially be a first-generation college graduate with a Bachelors in Psychology.

I conquered my academic fears, and achieved what I thought was out of my reach. After many setbacks, and the heavy weight of self-doubt, I have made it to the end of this journey.

To everyone in my life who has believed in me and told me that I COULD; I thank you from the bottom of my heart for pouring into me and seeing me through it. I’m so blessed to know and love you all.

Shoutout to my therapists Melissa Sonthonax & Dr. Michael Edwards who showed me that I am much more than what my fears and doubts make me think. Y’all have been foundational pieces in my rebuilding process.

A special thank you to Kenneth & Marie Clark for doing the groundwork as black psychologists so that I am afforded this experience and opportunities to come.

This is the end of the chapter but the rest is still unwritten! 🎓✅🧠 #firstgen #nowrinkledregalia #usf

September will truly have special place in my heart from this moment forward. I got officially married on 9/14/25 {🥹💍} to the love of my life, and I have spent time continuously building and fostering friendships that I will always cherish. I’m ready to close out this year feeling the same way I do today, and I’m glad to have my village right by my side.

Happy 5 years to the love of my lifetime. I could never call anyone my best friend without acknowledging you first. You are (and have been) my biggest supporter, my shoulder to cry on, my therapist before I committed myself to therapy, and much more than you needed to be for me; but through it all you have been there. I love you and I am in love with you. You inspire me to push through any obstacle no matter how big or tough. I never believed in the idea of a soulmate until you left your footprint in my sand of time. Here’s to many more, forever and always baby.
