🌟 Meet the curator of Ignite SF Puppet Slam: Dyana Díaz (dyanadiaz.org) 🌟

Dyana is a Latine puppeteer and theatre creator based in San Francisco, dedicated to making bilingual, family-oriented, and community-centered performances. She believes puppetry is a space where imagination, play, and identity collide; where stories, often untold, can take center stage. ✨

This year, Dyana was an Emerging Artist at the 2025 National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, where she began developing her new work, Luna. She now brings her passion for experimental puppetry and collaborative storytelling to curate the first-ever Ignite SF Puppet Slam 🔥

💬 We want to know: what are you excited about Ignite SF Puppet Slam?

A month ago I had the honor to be an Emerging Artist at the National Puppetry Conference at the @oneill_center and started developing a project, Luna, Please Talk To Me, that has been in my heart for a couple of years now.
Being able to start a project that was once just an idea and then it was in front of my eyes was amazing. But, the magic was not in the result, yet in the people that I found a long the journey. @camgarrity & @jstnprkns thank you for all your love, dedication, and support.🫂 @danielroberthefetz thank you for creating the heartbeat of our story. @hausofmarsian , @roshinaratnam , @kalobmartinez thank you for your words and guidance, and @arcieropam & @jeanmarieny thank you for making space for us and reminding me to believe in myself.
There’s so many other people that I should thank, but I guess that will be another post.
Peace out. P.S. @richardtermine these photos make me smile each time I see them. Your work is amazing taken in Eugene O'Neill Theater Center by @dydy17didi
