took a little trip to america, won a little award, got a little tattoo, got a little tipsy… ❤️‍🔥 seriously though, so over the moon for us to have won ‘Best Documentary Feature’ with ‘Tomorrow’s Too Late’ amongst so many other amazing docs … thanks to @april_kelley for not losing the will to live, puppeteering me across the globe while I almost missed 2 flights & bought a SIM card for Central America xxx

5 years ago, alongside my best friend + filmmaker @april_kelley, I picked up a camera to document a whole chapter of my life. I never imagined that story would go on to become an award-winning feature length documentary.

‘Tomorrow’s Too Late’ follows my journey through transitioning, music, identity and everything I learned about losing and then finding my voice, both literally + metaphorically.

It’s quite literally the most personal + intimate project I’ve ever created, and I’m both overjoyed + terrified to say it’s now showing on actual cinema screens from tonight!

If you’re in London July & August, I’d absolutely love to see you there. I’ll be joining the Q&A after the Tuesday 28th evening screening, so please come + say hello.

One minute we were playing football with jumpers for goal posts, making up dances on webcams, taking pics on a night out and uploading each one to Facebook with an individual caption, calling a mate on a landline saying ‘meet me here at 12’ hoping they turn up on time…. And now those same best friends are parents, who you see on birthdays and Xmas if you’re lucky, who’ve got their own lives, their own jobs, we’ve moved away from our siblings, weve been to far too many funerals, lost people we love most… and yet the world carries on like normal.

There is only one thing we can do to slow the feeling of time, and it’s to be present, to be where your feet are… as much as possible. Try new things, take a different route home, do something that scares you, learn the language, take the trip… you never know when your time is up ❤️

Keep your heart beat fast, and keep your seasons slow
