If you asked me back in my senior year of high school where I saw myself in 4 years, I probably wouldn't have had an answer. Yet college taught me more than I could have possibly expected- there was a lot of loss, hardship, and sadness, but there was also a lot of joy, self discovery, and growth.

Most importantly, I learned that every single setback and difficulty I faced, no matter how it felt in the moment, gave me two choices: fall apart and sulk, or take what happened and grow from it. It was easier said than done, but still; Emotionally, intellectually, socially- every hardship is something I tried to learn from.

The past 4 years have changed me and helped me grow so much more than I ever thought I could, and I am so thankful for it. There was definitely a lot of good (high school me wouldn't have predicted studying at Oxford), and there was absolutely a lot of bad, but I made it out of the other side a much stronger, more resilient, and just plain better person than I was before. I know now that I'm ready for whatever happens next.

It's going to be really hard to let Athens and UGA go as I've become ridiculously attached to them. Yet, even as I look towards grad school at Georgia Tech, I know for a fact that it's always gonna be Go Dawgs for the rest of my life (they'll never make me tech fan). I'm beyond thankful to be a UGA grad. by @dylanbarfield

I don’t really post much, but I just wanted to write a little about how thankful I am to have been able to study at Oxford for the past six weeks.

The past few years have been incredibly painful and difficult. I’ve learned a lot about loss, sudden difficult changes, and how life can often feel like hardship after hardship. Life has been hard, but this trip really made me realize that the world inside our heads that we trap ourselves in isn’t all that’s out there, and that perspective is something I’ve desperately needed. This trip felt like it came at a really pivotal time in my life.

I don’t think I’m ever going to forget it, and I am so incredibly thankful I was able to do this. I really wish my grandmother and my aunt could still be here to see that I finally made it to England. I know they both would have been so happy. taken in Oxford, Oxfordshire by @dylanbarfield
