It’s been my childhood dream to catch a giant land based rooster on the popper. What an unbelievable and chaotic trip with the boys @stinger_fishing and @gorzyfishing . Fish like this make all of the long and sketchy drives so worth it. Thanks to @thesixthkai from @unclelarryoutdoors for the bait. What an experience. @thehookuptackle_usa @fishin48 #mexico #mexicofishing #bajarippers taken in Mexico by @dylanmladick

Grouper bite went absolutely unreal this year.

From massive leopard grouper eating poppers in the Northern Sea of Cortez, to broom tails off Magdalena sand, it seemed El Niño had these guys fired up everywhere.

Great time with the boys

I was able to catch my first leopard grouper over 20 pounds this past weekend, and it happened from shore.
After a streak of bad luck over the past couple trips, I was blessed with redemption by multiple insane topwater bites and some large grade fish.

A big land based yellowtail has been a dream for me and the crew, since the moment we realized it could be possible. Many told us it couldn’t be done. This trip we were all able to accomplish this impossible task and hooked 20 yellowtail from shore over the span of 5 days. I felt very unlucky this trip after multiple lost and missed fish. Bent hooks, broken line, broken reels, and everything else you could imagine. My fishing performance was at an all time low. On the final day, I was able to put one on the rocks after going 0/5.

Years of planning, watching moon phases, and warming trends finally panned out and gave us the trip of a lifetime. We are all stoked for this year’s El Niño and expect the fishing to only get better!

These trips wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the amazing crew that I’m lucky enough to be apart of

27.73 with a 9.01 big fish was good enough for the W last week at Apache.

My biggest fish in a tournament and one of my biggest night fish ever!

Thanks @johnlandisfishing for a great night.

Catching a goliath grouper is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I wasn’t expecting it to happen on my freshwater swimbait stick, on a lure, but I couldn’t be more stoked!
The @megabassamerica VALKRYIE can handle anything.
