for 3 years, i’ve been sitting on a huge project. over 12 hours of footage. my goal was to make a video over an hour or even hour and a half long if i had enough footage. my life from june to september 2023. it would be the same as my short videos, but obviously all clumped together in 1 big one. like a full length skate video compared to an individual skate part. its always been a huge goal for me to create that and be able to look back on it forever. i started off good and had a great intro. but through ups and downs i went in and out with phases. i’d go months without touching the video, then i’d work on it for 2 weeks straight.

well one day maybe a year and a half ago i was doing a software update on my computer. i don’t know what i did wrong, which made it even more heartbreaking. but when i went back in, everything was gone, deleted without a trace. i had over 16 COMPLETE minutes of a video. man it was so good. it was one of the most heartbreaking moments in my life. i didn’t know what to do with myself. i tried so hard to get it back, but nope.

all i had left was a “demo” intro that i had used for an assignment in school. thats what this is.

this is the 60 second intro that i have had completed and built off of for a couple years, now i have to do it all again.

it will take awhile. but now I’m going to make it my main creative focus from here on out. no more hesitating on what to work on next. you guys can enjoy the videos or photos that i post, but i have always and will always do it for me.

create. create. create.

i hope i can retrace my steps and make it better than it originally was.

playing ketchup creatively.

i’ve been struggling to keep up creatively, the longer i wait the harder it gets for me to just get something out. i’ve never created or posted things for the primary intention of others attention or feedback, but rather for myself. One of my biggest goals in my life is to create as much as possible and document as much as I can for myself to look back on as I get older. and the past year or so i’ve really not been able to keep myself creatively motivated and finish projects or at least keep consistent effort towards them. I have really poor self discipline and many bad habits. i’m also terrible at decision making which is a huge factor on why i struggle so much on what’s “next” creatively. wether it’s certain footage i want to make a video with or certain film that i want to post at a specific time of year. it’s hard for me to just pull the trigger on something and go through with it. i’m trying to be more straight forward with that so for now i’m playing catch up.

it’s no surprise to me i am my own worst enemy.
