Not everyone sees how much goes into producing a video... For my latest project, I had to figure out a way to pump smoke through a vent on-screen, so I created this fake wall then placed a fog machine & backlight behind it. I made this using posterboard & the vent from my bedroom wall, it cost me less than $10! Small props like this can make or break a production, & even though this shot only lasts 2-3 seconds on-screen, the narrative work it performed was priceless. by @dylegacy

CHILLERS (1988) is my favorite film, & I was honored to call the director DANIEL BOYD my friend. Yesterday we lost a legendary Appalachian filmmaker. He crafted my favorite films & the best films to ever grace West Virginia. Danny was prolific; a force of nature that refused to be stopped. He produced films, novels, comics, musicals & more.His movies (2 of them for Troma) are hilarious, soulful, quirky & incredibly meaningful productions. Danny welcomed me into his home, giving me the advice I needed for video projects & more. He often pulled out his binders of achieved behind-the-scenes material for me to gawk over & photograph. Together, we assembled a special screening of STRANGEST DREAMS: INVASION OF THE SPACE PREACHERS (1990) this past April, bringing together the entire cast & crew from far & wide. A dedicated crowd of 150 fans laughed & cheered. Afterward, Danny & I walked into the lobby, he grabbed my arm and asked, "That was actually pretty good, wasn't it?"He was right, It was incredible. In the last few months, he asked me to frame the poster for his final feature PARADISE PARK (1992). When I delivered it, we shared a beer and talked about the legendary celebrities he wrangled to act in the film; Dusty Rhodes, Porter Wagoner & Johnny Paycheck. Seek his movies out, watch them, enjoy them & tell others. His legacy will never die. 1. CHILLERS (1988) 2. STRANGEST DREAMS: INVASION OF THE SPACE PREACHERS (1990)3.
