My Key Takeaways from this project were:1. Pacing: I tried to pace out fast moments in the edit with slower ones for both the visuals and the sound design. For me this is what makes the video really dynamic and more fun to watch.2. Solids/ Cuts: I tried to emphasize each cut or dynamic movement with a corresponding sound as well as each sound with a corresponding visual. My secret tip is that i usually use solids as extra a means to achieve this visually😉3. Mixing SFX: I usually find a blend of different sounds are way more powerfull than a single one. It also helps when my sounds start feeling repetitive. How we made this:For the atmosphere, we used a Eurolite 5001 snow machine. Whenever you’re working with rain, fog, haze, or snow — backlight is everything.Our setup: A amaran F21x on a boom behind the subject → This lights the snow so it actually shows up on camera → And gives a nice top light on the modelTo fill the shadows, we bounced some light back up using a white styrofoam board, giving the face a subtle glow and creating that street-light look.We shot this on the RED Epic Dragon 6K with a Zeiss Planar 50mm, wide open at F1.4, to get those soft, blurry snowflakes drifting through the foreground and background.Save this for your next shoot 🔥Big thanks to the incredible @lisaleutwiler infront of the lens. ❤️#behindthescenes #cinematicreels #filmmakingtips #photographytips #studioatmosphere #snowphotoshoot #lightingsetup #creativeprocess #onsetlife #filmlighting #portraitsetup #reelseducational #learnonreels #creatorcommunity #contentcreators #filmmakersworld #reddigitalcinema #zeisslens #cinegear #visualcreators by @dylonski
