After my workout, I grabbed an açaí bowl and drove past a park. Something told me to turn around, so I did. I sat in the sunshine, ate my breakfast, and listened to the birds. A reminder that not every moment has to be rushed. by @dymond_lashay

In 2020, I was too scared to use my gym membership because I thought everybody was looking at me.So I started working out on Zoom in my parents backyard with a pair of dumbbells and a trainer I found on Instagram.Six years later, fitness has become one of the most consistent parts of my life.The funny thing is, the biggest lessons I learned had nothing to do with weight loss, running races, or building muscle.The gym taught me how to:Focus on myselfSlow down without quittingThe importance of meaningful communityThese lessons have shaped my life far beyond fitness.I shared the full story on the blog today. I don’t even like running for real 😭 yet somehow I keep signing myself up for races.Life started lifeing and I completely fell off for 6 months, but a few weeks ago I decided to start again and ended up running another 5K this weekend.This post isn’t really about running though.
