Sharing my @dyne.life fall 18 runway show. I’ve always used my platform to inspire and educate. Growing up in a house where we made our own clothes, I understood early the influence of fashion. As my skills improved and my platform grew, I knew I’d get more eyes on my work. So for fall 18 I wanted to bring awareness to the systemic racism in the world today. My guy @skygellatly helped me curate a dope Revolutionary inspired soundtrack and @ettong1979 with the styling lead. Blacked out war paint across the eyes so you can see the world through my eyes. (DP reference)My unstoppable team felt the importance of this season too and dug in to make sure we kept it true. We didn’t work so hard to be added to a black designer list made up by some culture vulture looking to validate their publications but rather to wake you up to what’s been going on. I was in the Bronx in 99 when they killed our Amadou Diallo. Fired 41 shots at him while showing his i.d. Wyclef Jean’s Diallo still ring’s true. Go listen to that record. I’ll share more images from the season but thought I'd share the runway show first. Oh and my Chinese business partner understood the importance of this presentation, he put up the $$$$$$ so I could do this. Appreciate you Bro!! ✊🏽

The Melvin Jacket is an homage to African-American engineer and astronaut Leland Melvin, that served on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis as a mission specialist on STS-122, and as mission specialist 1 on STS-129.⁣⁣⁣
