A home has to work for the people living in it.

In this project, one client loves football. The other loves art.

Rather than letting the TV become the focal point of the open-plan kitchen and dining space, I wanted it to work quietly within the room.

The 43” Samsung Frame (no ads here just my designer choice) gives us the flexibility to have a proper screen when it’s needed, while allowing the wall to feel much more like part of the home when it isn’t.

And, as with so many renovation details, what you don’t see is just as important as what you do see — including getting the electrics in the right place before everything is finished.

Good design isn’t always about choosing one priority over another.

Sometimes it’s about making both work beautifully together.

Would you have a TV in your dining area?

A little glimpse of the person behind DYR Studio 🤍

I’ve always believed that the spaces we create should feel like the people who live in them — layered, personal, a little unexpected, and full of things that mean something.

So perhaps it makes sense that I’m drawn to old treasures, beautiful places, art, architecture, colour, quiet moments, noisy cities… and, of course, the people (and dogs!) I love.

These are just some of the little things that make me ME — and, inevitably, find their way into how I design.

Thanks for being here.

What’s one little thing about you that would always find its way into your home?

When life gives you lemons… turn an awkward attic into a Neo-Deco sanctuary. 🍋✨

After having planning permission to enlarge our loft space rejected—twice!—we decided to stop fighting the architecture and start embracing it. The goal? Turn a tight, low-ceiling, almost impractical space into something deeply functional, cozy, and luxurious.

Even though standard heights said “no bathtub,” we made it a non-negotiable priority. To soften the awkward sloped ceilings and narrow footprint, we brought in:
🦪 Mother-of-Pearl tiles in a herringbone pattern to reflect light and bring the feeling of sea shells into an enclosed space.
🦩 A delicate bird wallpaper for a soft, feminine touch and a pop of warmth.
👑 Art Deco accents—from fluted walnut and brushed brass to round sconces—for that touch of glamour.

Sometimes the best designs don’t come from perfect spaces, but from embracing the constraints! What do you think of this transformation? 👇

Some cities don’t let go.
Copenhagen in June. Three days. Three friends. All of it still living rent-free.

Three paintings, two countries, six years of homes.

Most people ask where to hang an art piece. I’ve always asked what the room has to become.

Swipe to see how the same works across completely different lives.

What’s the piece in hour home that’s never quite find its place? 👇🏻✍🏼

Stepping into WOW!house 2026 at @designcentrech felt like a journey through a magical land. ✨

To me, this exhibition represents the absolute 'haute couture' of British design—where impeccable storytelling, rich textures, and historical reinterpretation come to life in every detail.

The absolute cherry on top? Meeting three of the brilliant minds behind these masterfully curated spaces (swipe to see a quick snap with one of them!). I hope these designers know just how deeply their work resonates, both intellectually and spiritually. It certainly left an unforgettable impression on me.

Huge congratulations to all the visionary designers and partners who made this magic happen! 👏🎨

Until next year! 🤍🥂 #wowhouse #wowhouse2026 #britishdesign #dyrstudiobyab #designjourney taken in Design Centre Chelsea Harbour by @dyrstudiobyab

POV: You just learned that “Digital Colour Accuracy” is a myth designed to break our hearts. 💔🎨

Swipe to see the evolution of my bathroom project: from the “perfectly curated multi-colour Zellige dream” (the screen version) to the reality where 90% of the box decided to be “Minimalist Ghost White.” 👻

Yes, I asked for samples.
Yes, they didn’t arrive.
Yes, the little internal alarm bell in my brain was screaming, “ABORT MISSION!”
And yes, I clicked “Order” anyway because this is the way!

The tiles arrived, the panic as well, and for a hot second, I thought my concept is ruined together with its delivery as the builders were counting the seconds.

But in the world of interior design, a “mistake” is just a pivot in disguise. Everything was recalibrated, I embraced the tonal texture, added some moody COAT paint, and honestly? I Love the result.

Stay tuned for the “Neo-Deco” bathroom reveal. Because if you aren’t risking it all for a vibe, are you even renovating? 🛠️✨

From Runaway to Nilufar

A week has passed since the whirlwind of Milan Design Week, and as the Met Gala takes center stage, the parallels are impossible to ignore. This year’s Met theme, ‘Costume Art,’ invites us to view fashion through the lens of sculpture and history. It immediately brings me back to the “Interior Art” I experienced in Milan—specifically within the cinematic worlds of Nilufar Gallery.

Three Stages, One Vision
If the Met is the high for couture curation, Nilufar is its domestic counterpart. Both celebrate the rare, the archival, and the avant-garde.
• Nilufar Depot (The Grand Hotel): Much like the Met’s grand staircase, the Depot acts as a vast, theatrical stage. The “Grand Hotel” setup felt like a gathering of icons—each room a suite where collectible design pieces performed their own high-fashion roles.
• Nilufar Spiga (La Casa Magica): This was the “after-party”—intimate, surreal, and deeply curated. It transformed the traditional gallery into a sanctuary of wonder, proving that a home can be as transformative as a couture gown.
• Salone Raritas, the high-end craftsmanship curation in the middle of Salone del Milano.

Design is no longer just about function; it is about the “Gala” of the everyday. Just as the Met celebrates the artistry of the body, Nilufar celebrates the artistry of the space, as its own Gala.

☀️ Lovely days in London. Getting me back to Artemest Garden in Milan where sunlight was reflected in different metals or glazed surfaces, shiny was playing with the matte, but all very Palazzo like, imposing and elegant.
