Whether you want to get better at sequentials, push yourself in team flying, select or train for the DVS8 competition or find out what this “sequentials” hype is all about, you’ve come to the right place. No big words and promises, just consistent hard work, creativity and the passion to show up even when it’s hard.

These camps break down the different sequentials moves to teach flyers to fly every slot and then put the newly gained knowledge into practice in different routines. In the second part of the workshop we focus on formation awareness, team work and flow.

What?
•⁠ ⁠1,5-2hrs of flying [Depending on your level and the camp]
•⁠ ⁠Day 1: break down different building blocks of sequential flying and practice flying different the slots.
•⁠ ⁠Day 2-3: focus on building a routine.

Registration Fee
Between €480/€630 depending on the tunnel, the size of the group and the level.

During Midsummer Friflaj Festival we got to test out a jump idea combining sequentials with a dynamic element.

It was a lot of fun to try out and I would like to thank My Annie for allowing us to do it 🫶🏼🍀🌸🌺🌼

⚠️ Nerd Talk
Four 5/6-Way Head Down Exits.
Similar slots, different issues.

1. Relatively uneventful. Front step flyer gets whipped off the formation without much consequence, makes it back quick. Having a tall person on the front slot is not the easiest if you want the formation to rotate over them into the wind. Formation lines up with jump run only slightly off. Inside slot ends up on diver side in line with jump run. 5 seconds [from exit to vertical position].
2. Tall person on the front step slot ends up high, instead of formation rolling over the top of them. This puts the formation on its side. Outside center slot ends up in head position when formation is sideways 🫣😅. Formation seems to roll out more than go squarely into the wind [maybe still due to awkward front slot] and spins another 90 degrees to the left putting the inside slot on the floater side in line with jump run. 7 seconds.
3. Tall person on the front step slot ends up high, instead of formation rolling over the top of them. This sends the formation going sideways, spinning 270 degrees left. Inside slot ends up perpendicular to jump run. 7 seconds.
4. Relatively smooth, timing works better even with tall person on front slot. Formation seems to roll out more than go squarely into the wind [due to awkward front slot] and spins another 90-180 degrees to the left putting the inside slot on the floater side slightly perpendicular with jump run. 4-5 seconds.

Dynamic Vertical Sequentials
TUNNEL TO SKY CAMP

The tunnel camp breaks down the different sequentials moves to teach flyers to fly every slot and then put the newly gained knowledge into practice in by creating a free routine that suits the level of the team. During the camp we focus on formation awareness, teamwork and flow. And then take everything we learned to the sky during a 3 day outdoor camp. 🪂

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Day 1 & 2:
1.5hrs of flying (Sunday evening/Monday) with availability for two groups
Day 3 to 5:
3 days outdoor, 5/6 participants on 1 coach (one group)
Aim: 6 to 8 jumps/day from 13k, weather permitting

FLYING REQUIREMENTS

Intermediate
Confident in HU and HD. Safe and solid HU and HD mandatory! You should be able to do transitions without much space next to each other (not starting from the net), do turns (360 in pairs and single on spot) and flip at least over one side.

Advanced
Really stable HD and HU, burble resistant and experienced in mixed stuff, flipping rounds, infinities and dynamic as well as static flying. NB: Experienced flyers only!

Tunnel
Advanced 6 or 5-way: maximum five participants and a coach
Advanced/Intermediate 5 or 4-way: four or three participants and a coach

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about why some organisations create environments where people can progress and where excellence thrives, while others don’t.

Attending the recent Fly4Life April Camp gave me some answers. I’ve been joining their camps since 2014, and they’ve consistently set a high bar for safety and excellence. What impresses me most is that consistency, more than anything else.

Their professionalism seems to be rooted in emotional intelligence, accountability and a genuine love for flying.
