I'm still chugging away working through commissions but I wanted to share some work from 2 pottery classes I took between April and June 😇 I have taken a class in the past but wheel throwing is not something that comes naturally to me. I'm trying to remember not to get attached to any piece until after the glaze firing lol pottery definitely can teach you patience! 😮‍💨You can probably tell my first pieces were the red bowl and plate because they are so chunky and I ended up using the wrong clear glaze over top so they are not food safe at all! I'm still experimenting with glazes and techniques - the strawberry bowl was the first time testing out wax resist with a painted design. It's also the first gift I've given to a friend! I have about 10 or 12 new pieces since I took these photos and I'm hoping I'll have time to glaze this weekend or next 🤞🏻 I have much more I could say but mostly I am just happy I'm improving little by little each week. by @e.milyhepler

🚨 6/15 UPDATE: We raised enough to cover his vet bills! Thank you all so much! If I get any extra commissions I will be donating the funds to Maine Animal Health Alliance ❤️❤️

Original post:

Hi folks 👋🏻 not a normal post for me, but unfortunately our sweet kitty, Puck, needs emergency surgery today to remove an obstruction in his intestines.
-
I'm hoping to try and raise some extra funds by opening up sketch commissions - his pre surgery visit was already $1.5k and we're looking at $2.5k + for the total after surgery.
-
I'm offering $50 6x9 pet pencil sketches similar to this!
-
Want color? I can do a finished watercolor portrait starting at $100!

Can also be stylized if you don't like realism, I can also sketch people, landscapes, or characters!

Lets chat more details through dms if you're interested☺️

If you just want to donate, and my eternal gratitude, here is my Venmo:
@ Emily-Hepler93 (remove the space when you type it!)

-
I will post a link in my stories as well. If you could even share this post, I would be so so grateful 🙏🏻

Puck is loved by so many and I just want him to be okay ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ by @e.milyhepler

Another quick collab with @mary.pforr 🫶

This time I designed a Jarritos soda wallpaper for the new @hifitexmexbbq Fairfax location. It's a repeating pattern of every flavor! 🥤 taken in Mosaic District, Merrifield Town Center by @e.milyhepler

My dear friend @mary.pforr commissioned me to illustrate Shorty for @shortysdeluxeva ! 💖

Shorty is a beloved handyman at @neighborhoodrestaurants and it was only fitting he be the face of their new sandwich spot in Del Ray.

I was lucky enough to visit last month and they have some seriously good sandwiches, soups and salads! 😋 taken in Del Ray, Alexandria by @e.milyhepler

👋🏻 It's been a while! I want to start using this account more so here's a fun little children's menu I designed for @hobbstavern a while back. Check them out for tasty food and brews if you're in the area!
