9 ° a poem 💤🏹🦁🏺⚡

He has awakened something deep inside her. What had lain dormant, forgotten, lost, for years, has risen from a deep and strange slumber.

Your essence is dangerous to mediocrity. And is deeply moving. Do not go back to sleep. Let what has awoken be wild and fierce as the great wide open.

Direct your attention to what is good. To what is in need. To what is honorable & generous. Open your eyes. Captivate the present with your heart’s gaze. With a look that can inspire a man to embark on any journey to know your heart. Arise now. Arise into your fullness. . .

She arises like the sun over the horizon and is witnessed by him who woke her. Her beautiful sunlight shines all the way to his core. He knows her. It's her full radiance, which he awoke in her, that is intertwined deeply within his own heart. His wild heart. A blazing fire which disregards mediocrity, and he is convicted. He, too, remembers who he is.

He is inspired to be of greater character once again. To do things with honor without fail. To be a man of his word. To be a man of integrity. And lead with integrity. To rise to his fullest leadership. To be a man of powerful loving-devotion.

The kind that breaks through, and breaks free. For her. For his family, and his future children. Attuning to her deepest light. And her deepest bliss. Attuning to the greatest good. To his purpose. To his work. To his community. To himself and his brothers.

She emboldens him. To fight for love, and for what's right. To protect, love and cherish. He's sturdy like an old oak tree that children climb, and is a trusted place for birds to rest their wings. He is totally alive, and gives of himself. And dissolves blissfully into dedication. And if needed, would die for what's worth fighting for.

He has awakened the sleeping lioness. She is the rhythm and strength in his chest. She is the apple of his eye. She is the wind in his mane. Together, they depict the eternal present. So full. In the Heartland ° a poem

Perhaps it's true. I do better in slow-progressing relationships. Ones that are built with no agenda.

It’s a sunset walk in my neighborhood on a weeknight. The sound of a dishwasher & the smell of clean laundry. It’s volunteering & seeing every gap matched by every person being uniquely themselves. And feeling my heartbeat in sync from the soles of my feet to the crown of my head.

It’s a Saturday run on the local trail, dotted with moments awestruck by a single leaf & halting mid-stride to witness a small frog hopping from one side to the other.

I fall in love in the arms of my own kitchen, hosting for friends & family, or holding my favorite hand-spun mug to my heart on a quiet morning.

It’s when I tilt my head back & feel sunbeams gush over my face that I taste my fullest smile. It’s when I close my eyes & with my feet in the grass hear the wind rustle the place I call home. Feeling its whisper brush past my entire body.

It’s an ab workout of laughter with friends carpooling across town with every seat full. And when a song comes on I’ve never heard, everyone singing every single word.

It’s a day spent with my brother. It’s witnessing a community alive at the park as the sky prepares for sunset. It’s the smell of a bonfire in the air.

It’s the sensation of my body releasing a flow of blood. And the sensation of once again preparing a place inside for life.

It’s moments of prayer with friends. Or when someone tells me something special they see in me, that I’ve heard a thousand ways, but can't witness for myself.

It’s the magic of a bone-cold, silky black midnight. The dazzling tapestry of a billion stars. Looking back at the light of a billion different times & places. It’s the milky blue moonlight dusting a deep indigo shimmer over the untouched rooftop snow.

It’s a body of water & the sensation of cool, gushing freedom when I dive right in. It’s the single breath a choir or stadium takes as it sings its songs & cheers.

It’s a lingering glance that becomes more than a stolen look, but a knowing exchange. It's being known, wanted, pursued & loved in the heartland. taken in Jackson Township by @e.starfiree

To all my artists: Does your creative exploration. . . evolve? I used to only play softly, in f min/ Ab maj. For YEARS. That's all I did. That's all I could do. And I needed sheets. Now I pick up a tune in 5 mins and go all over the place. I just feel it in my bones and must dance/ sing/ find a piano. It's wild! It's fun! IDK WHAT IS HAPPENING!!! by @e.starfiree

Maybe sometimes the universe lets us mess up. Maybe sometimes wisdom is wrought through loss, not love. And helps us evolve in a way that love couldn't. And while on a new road, if we are lucky enough to get a second chance, we'll know how to love big. To live in purpose. To surrender and dance with the mystery. Sometimes it would be easier to reach up and grasp the stars. And sometimes, when I look up at the starry sky, the stars really are only an arms length away. by @e.starfiree
