ATENEUM GALA 2025 + PROCESS
@ateneummuseum

Gustav Klimt’s relationship with Emilie Flöge, and how she eschewed the restricting corset worked as an inspiration for this outfit. During that period clothes were slowly moving away from being a weapon of control, and silhouettes were more free, offering freedom and easier movement. The corset and crinoline structures around the wearer resemble jail bars that are floating away from the body. The ”jail bars” floating away visualize the wearer being freed from the control of the garments, and gaining control of their own body.
