Love you forever, Walt.

We said a very sad goodbye to our best buddy suddenly yesterday. He was such a gentle, sweet, observant, empathetic, goofy, cuddly, and loving dog.

He loved his family, road trips, frisbees, and shoes. I’ll never forget driving seven hours with my Dad to pick him up because we’d finally found our perfect pup. He certainly was that, and so much more. He became an important part of our family and was there for so many big moments and transitions in our lives. He was the best companion for Erika when I would travel overnight. He was a constant, reminding us to slow down, be present, and have fun every day. He really became a big brother to Lennon as I watched him protect her, play with her, care for her, and eat all of her leftovers.

I’ve never known a dog with such depth. He wasn’t just anyone’s best friend. Rather, he chose his people and had an incredible capacity to love, care, and protect. Though his time with us was cut short, the memories we have are so rich.

I look forward to the day when the grief of losing him softens, and the love he left behind takes deeper root in our hearts. I pray it’s soon.

I really thought I chose him, but as I look back, I realize he chose me.

Really honored to be a part of this project. Presence Nights have been so special, getting to cultivate a space to pray and worship with my church.

To my bandmates, Nick, Scott, Otis, Allison, and Antonio - It’s a special thing to have such a rich history and depth on and off stage with you guys. There’s so much trust we’ve built by knowing exactly what the other person is about to play because of consistency, but there’s another layer where you learn to link arms with each other in moments where none of us know what’s next, but fully yielding to the Lord and playing together as one. “Intercession” is a glimpse of one of those many moments we’ve shared together. You guys never look for a moment to shine. Rather you boldly and masterfully play with surrender to what the Spirit is doing in the moment, giving all glory, honor, and attention to God.

It reminds me of 2 Chronicles 5:13-14, where, as the musicians and singers lifted praise to the Lord at the dedication of the temple, ‘the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.’”

I thank God for His grace in allowing me to witness these things that show me more of His character.

E often speaks through fingers on strings, so I felt really honoured that he was willing to share with us on this panel through words from his mouth, because every time E speaks his words are always so life-giving, thoughtful and wise.

E is a treasure and I thought this beautiful testimony of how he and his family are practically loved and cared for in the context of being part of a local church worship team is such an encouragement and challenge to every leader with gifted people in their care.

All people regardless of gifting deserve to be treated with care and dignity in context of a team, but it takes secure, mature leaders to be unthreatened by those God has gifted especially uniquely and to understand that these servants and their gifting belong to the Lord - and that the role of a leader is to help shepherd and care, not to doubt, undermine, project or exploit because of an undealt with insecurity or ambition on the part of a leader.

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5:2-3

checked off a bucket list venue. such a surreal and unforgettable experience. especially getting to do it with my brother @n__edwards and my @elevation.rhythm family. God is so good and I’m so thankful to see him fulfill moments like this 🫶🏼 taken in Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre by @e__edwards

2024 has been uncertain, yet the most fulfilling year as I look back. We welcomed our sweet Lennon into the world. She’s the greatest blessing and I’m so honored to be her dad. I love getting to watch Erika as a mom too. She’s so patient, strong, and overflowing with love. Life feels so precious lately and every moment is worth being fully present for. I’m overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness and grace that sustains and draws me nearer to Him each day.

I feel so blessed to be able to make music and I’m thankful for the incredible people I get to do it with! I believe every song is an opportunity to share the gospel with someone. That inspires me to write and play with more confidence and conviction by @e__edwards
