The BBTAs 2025✨
Being mixed race is something I don’t talk about that much, so on Sunday I decided to talk about it in front of 1000 people… and honestly the outpouring of love I felt was immense 🥹
An incredible night, I was so proud to be even nominated, alongside such a dizzying array of black talent, and my mind is still blown that I won 🤯
The one person I forgot to thank was my Mum, who never got to hear all the music I’ve made. But she knows ❤️
Please now feast your eyes on lots of photos of me with my big mouth open 😄

The newmusicals.net Substack is back from summer vacation, featuring an interview with @eamonnodwyer.

This Substack interview has it all: ghosts, time signatures and theatrical trickery.

A big thanks to Eamonn for being an early believer, and champion, in newmusicals.net.

This is gonna be a special one… can’t wait to get started on this beautiful new play by the genius @danny_lee_wynter Can honestly say I’ve never seen myself so clearly reflected in a piece of theatre before - gay, mixed race and coming of age amid all the repression and fear of the 90s. And then Barbra Streisand! A creative team of dreams, too… Thanks @timsheader and @donmarwarehouse for bringing me on board, and thanks as always to the fantastic @accessltd !

Opens 10 Oct

Only a year late (!), but finally getting around to sharing this clip of The Earth I Know, the piece I wrote for the 10th Anniversary Concert for my beloved @cityacademysingers It's a setting of Walter de la Mare's gorgeous poem 'Music' and really sums up the transformative power of music and song. You can hear the full piece on YouTube (link in bio), and if any choirs out there fancy having a bash, please reach out! #choir #choirlife #composer #conductor #walterdelamare @cityacademyuk @walterdelamaresociety by @eamonnodwyer

I’m off to Wales! Hugely excited to be starting work on Twelfth Night directed by @juliette_manon at @theatrclwyd this week. It’s an exciting new collaboration as I’ll be sound designing, arranging and re-composing the gorgeous songs of @ceryshafana
Stand by for folky harp, disco beats and queer joy! 🪉🪩🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

Mary’s monologue.

Keala Settle delivers one of the most powerful moments of the show.

Raw. Intimate. Unforgettable.

Must end March 8th.
