Happy 11th Birthday to my mini me, my partner in crime, & my best friend. I don’t know how you’re already a preteen in jr high. In only a few short years you’ll be in high school & driving.

This beauty arrived yesterday. 😍

I’m not one to buy expensive things, but I sometimes treat myself & Coach will always have a special place in my heart. I remember going to the coach store in the mall with my mom. She wasn’t overly girly & like me didn’t often buy expensive things, but I remember she always had a classic leather Coach purse.

Sadly my family at the time didn’t save any of my mother’s stuff for me. Thinking rather I was 11 at the time & wouldn’t want them. (Wrong!)

Anyway I now have some things that remind me of her & help me feel closer to her. I have a vintage 90s black leather Coach purse that is similar to one she had when I was a child & I now have this gorgeous brown leather bag which I know she’d love if she were still alive.

I’ve been taking workout pole classes for the past several months & was finally confident enough to share.

I love this studio. They are so supportive & positive to everyone.

This class has helped me own my body & regain confidence; it’s been its own form of therapy as I continue on my mental health journey. I continue to surprise myself with my strength & push myself to do things that may seem scary & impossible at first.

Summer break is in full swing.

I cleaned & organized the entire house last week. I also finally went grocery shopping. Now that I’ve surprised myself and knocked off my entire to do list in a week, it’s time to relax.

Today is Aiden’s first day of pointe/ summer ballet. While he’s gone I’m going to try and finish my book. Our days forward will consist of sleeping in, pointe class for him & my own dance class for me, lazy days next to the pool, going on random adventures, reading books, & lounging around in pjs.
I feel like this summer break has been really needed for him & I. The school year was so busy we really didn’t time to spend together & with junior high coming up I know my summers with him are limited.

Who says boys can’t dance, especially en pointe.

My son is a dancer & I am a proud boy dance mom. Today we start a new era as he enters the world of pointe. I am so proud of him & all his accomplishments. We are grateful for a studio & teachers who not only encourage their male dancers, but help them break stereotypes. It is relatively new for boys/males to dance en pointe.

Aiden has been watching the mail all day for his shoes & couldn’t be happier. We have our follow up fitting Friday. He will start learning pointe over the summer & I cannot wait for his first performance en pointe in the winter.

I also have to give a huge shout out to Josephine @thepointeshop for helping us with our fitting & all her positive inclusive videos. Aiden has watched her videos for years now & has felt inspired by her, so when his studio recommended doing a virtual fitting with her it was a no brainer.

I will forever be my son’s biggest supporter & help him live out his dreams.

Yesterday was the last day of school. My 4th year of teacher and an even bigger milestone for our son.

I’m posting this a day late, but this is what I had typed up yesterday :
I wasn’t ready for today. For a lot 5th grade going to junior high may seem like nothing, but as a mom it is a big mile stone. I woke up realizing after 7 years today was be the last day I drive Aiden to school. This will be his last day where we’re at the same school. His last day as in elementary school student. I’m excited for his next chapter, but I’m also going to miss what was.

It only seems like a couple years ago we were having an impromptu at home kindergarten graduation because COVID ended the year abruptly; how is high school only 3 years away. Nevertheless here we are, ready to clap him out as a big kid headed off to junior high with all its 1sts and new experiences.
