@thrown_away_sco - Mediterranèa, Stirling 26/03/26

First up on yesterdays bill was @thrown_away_sco , proving to the room and no doubt the surrounding residents of Viewfield Place, that punk is far from dead.

They’ve not long released their EP, which you can stream on major platforms, and they’re also available to buy if you have the chance to see them live.

Absolutely wicked. by @eandi.media

@deaddolphinsband - Mediterranèa, Stirling 26/03/26

If you know me you know I absolutely bloody love the dolphins. Not only was Neil responsible for putting the gig together, himself and the rest of the band, plus Neil’s brother Pete stepping in on bass despite never playing with the band previously, didn’t miss a beat.

The guys recently released a single in preparation for their forthcoming EP “Villains of the Old West” which I personally can’t wait to hear.

A fantastic gig all in, and dead dolphins carried us nicely into @cuttheband set. Starting the gig were @thrown_away_sco whose photos I’ll post next.

@cuttheband - Mediterranèa, Stirling 26/03/26

After seeing these guys with @deaddolphinsband at @blocglasgow, I was encouraged by the dolphins to see them again as they took on the headline spot on yesterday’s gig.

These guys are on tour celebrating 30 years as a band, and I can tell you first hand you need to go and see them play in a city near you. You can find all information regarding their tour over on their website www.soundofcut.com

The pride of Italy, killer sound, but overall three genuinely talented and lovely men. It was a pleasure to capture these guys in action. by @eandi.media

It’s been a while since I’ve done a write up here, as I’ve been so busy with everything else going on (everything being @theleadheadcollective) but in doing so I’ve had the pleasure of sharing a stage with the powerful musical force that is @deaddolphinsband

These guys are hard to tie down to a certain genre in my opinion, and that’s what makes them so great. They describe their sound as “the kind of noise that lands somewhere between a bar fight and a space trip.” And it’s exactly that. It makes me feel like I’m watching a bounty hunter from star wars in one of they space pubs blowing stuff up with their mad space guns, that’s what they sound like. But I digress.

These guys make me feel like I did when I discovered records like Animals by Pink Floyd, or The Doors self titled album. Not exactly because of how they sound, but how it made me feel to discover a new sound that tickles my brain in the way it musically requires. And Dead Dolphins do exactly that.

Every time I see them they get better and better and they recently travelled to the mountains of our beautiful nest of Scotland to track their first record “Villains Of The Old West” which, upon its a arrival. I can’t stress enough how quickly you have to purchase it and listen to it.

What I lack in gig photography ability Dead Dolphins make up for in performance, so please check them out and see them play at great haste.

Lately I’ve been rethinking the direction of Echoes & Insight.

What started as a just an experiment for me and a piece of portfolio for college, is growing into something broader — a space for interviews, reviews, and creative commentary across all things interesting, music, film, and pretty much everything in-between.

I want to thank you for your reception on the first podcast episode, and furthermore would like to thank Rhys for his time, I had a blast recording and producing that episode. The podcast will return, as I expand its horizons and explore its possibilities out with simply, sitting and interviewing.
I also would like to begin to use Instagram to document reviews on bodies of work, and would encourage anybody who gives a toss about what I have to say, to reach out, I am more than happy to explore anything new I can get my hands on.
For now, expect more, and thank you for your time!
