Our Barra and Gávea campuses came together for Pinktober as the S.O.S. Clubs organized their annual Pink Week in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Throughout the week, students took part in meaningful initiatives, from writing Letters of Hope to INCA patients and hearing from a cancer survivor to honoring loved ones on a remembrance wall. The campuses were also filled with energy with fun activities such as Tape a Teacher, karaoke, FIFA tournament, bake sales, raffles, and a T-shirt design workshop.

Pink Week also marks the lead-up to the annual S.O.S. Walkathon, taking place on April 11, 2027, to raise funds and awareness for INCA. A heartfelt thank you to our S.O.S. Club members and advisors for bringing our community together to raise awareness, share hope, and support such an important cause. by @earj.official

Our Barra and Gávea campuses were filled with sweet treats and bright smiles as the PTA hosted its annual Ice Cream Social in honor of Children’s Day. Beyond the scoops and sundaes, the event served as a heartfelt celebration of childhood itself, honoring the boundless joy, wonder, and innocence that make these years so precious. All students, faculty, and staff came together to enjoy a vibrant afternoon filled with warmth, laughter, and community across both campuses.

A huge thank you goes out to our PTAs and dedicated parent volunteers for putting together such a sweet event. Your constant support, generosity, and energy make EARJ a truly special place for everyone. by @earj.official

Recently, Grade 8 students participated in the Via Sapientia Experience in Paraty, where they explored Brazil’s colonial heritage through visits to Fazenda Bananal, Quilombo do Campinho da Independência, and the city’s historic center.

Through hands-on experiences ranging from learning about reforestation and beekeeping to kayaking and exploring the region’s islands, students deepened their understanding of Brazil’s history, environment, and cultural identity.

Experiences beyond the classroom give students the opportunity to connect what they learn to the world around them, fostering curiosity, independence, and a deeper appreciation for the people, places, and stories that shape our country. by @earj.official

Field trips are an important part of the learning experience at EARJ, creating opportunities for students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world contexts.

Over the past weeks, students participated in a variety of educational experiences, including a visit to the exhibition “Vik Muniz – A Olho Nu” at CCBB (1), the Festival Nacional da Matemática (2), Rio Ocean Week(3) and the Shell Eco-marathon Brasil (4).

These experiences encouraged students to explore new ideas, engage with professionals and experts, strengthen critical thinking skills, and deepen their understanding of different subjects through direct observation and participation.

By extending learning beyond the classroom, field trips help students develop curiosity, broaden perspectives, and make meaningful connections between academic concepts and the world around them. by @earj.official

PEACE DAY AT EARJ 🕊️💙

Last week, our Gávea and Barra communities came together to reflect on the meaning of peace, kindness, and empathy.

At Barra, Lower School held its first special events assembly of the year, led by Mr. Leo and Panther Leaders from Grades 2–5. Students explored what peace looks like in action, and the Upper School Band joined the celebration with two special performances, bringing the community together through music.
At Gávea, students showed their spirit by wearing white as a symbol of peace, kindness, and harmony, and spent time working on creative projects centered around the spirit day theme.
Across both campuses, Peace Day created an opportunity for our students to reflect on how cooperation, empathy, and everyday actions can help build a more peaceful community.

Together, our Panthers showed that peace starts with each of us. 💙 by @earj.official

Meet our new Lower School Panther Ambassadors!

Students from Grades 3–5 across both campuses are stepping into an exciting new leadership role, helping welcome new and prospective families, hosting visiting shadow students, and sharing what makes the EARJ community so special.

Along the way, they’re building confidence, strengthening their communication and public speaking skills, and experiencing what it means to lead with pride and purpose.

Our Panther Ambassadors took on their very first assignment in August, welcoming prospective families during our Campus Visit Events. We couldn’t be prouder of the Panther spirit they brought to the experience. by @earj.official
