'I have heard several explanations and I believe the octo is moving water over her eggs (which are underneath her) to oxygenate them. Please let me know if you can confirm or if there is another explanation for this behavior!!'

'Did you know the Giant Pacific Octopus is the largest known octopus species? In fact, the largest recorded individual weighed 600 pounds (272 kg) and measured 30 feet (9m) across. 😱🐙'

'The Flatworm 😵‍💫 Presently, there are approximately 20,000 species of flatworms! Flatworms usually feed on tunicates, small crustaceans, worms, and mollusks. Their life cycle is not definite. However, some species are known to have lived for between 65 to 140 days.

In sexual reproduction, flatworms can either produce and fertilize their own eggs (since they are hermaphroditic) or mate with fellow flatworms (their skin absorbs sperms so minimal physical contact is required). After mating, the cocoon is released into the environment, which later develops with time and then hatches.'

'I jumped into the crystal-clear waters of The Bahamas as the @SeaLegacy 1 slowed to a crawl, hoping to catch a glimpse of a recently-spotted pod of bottlenose dolphins. It was a long shot, considering how notoriously skittish their particular species is, but worth it, given what happened next. I power-kicked sixty feet down to the sandy bottom, where I discovered them engaging in a behavior called crater feeding – they would use their echolocation to spot single, silver fish hiding deep in the soft sand, then dive in with their snouts, sometimes all the way down to their pectoral fins, before wriggling back out with their catch. I am grateful they let me watch from just a couple of feet away as if I didn't exist, despite my noisy scuba bubbles.'

'Nighttime freediving with the biggest fish in the sea!
⁣⁣
These gentle giants can consume up to 30,000 calories a day by filter-feeding! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
They are most attracted to plankton, which are a collection of multi-cellular organisms often smaller than 2cm/1inch. They gulp water into their mouths over their gills to feed like a giant vacuum cleaner. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Unfortunately they are victim to fast moving boats and propellers because they feed at the surface. When this guy showed up he had a fresh, deep bleeding wounds on his back 😭 but in the few hours I spent with him in the water, the bleeding stopped so I hope he will heal quickly! ✌🏼🤕⁣⁣'

'800-1000 turtles that were rescued during the deadly winter storm in Texas and other southern states recently, have now been released back into the ocean in the Gulf of Mexico.

Freezing temperatures cold-stunned the animals, leaving them struggling to swim or feed, prompting massive rescue missions from the @texassealifecenter and other organisations 🐢👏

If you’re interested in making a donation, they are still needed to help treat the 55 turtles they still have at the center, that they kept because they needed more intensive treatment. Donations can be made at www.texassealifecenter.org'
