Introducing this beautiful dresser from the 1920s! 🤩
A sweet woman reached out to me and let me know she was located in San Francisco and getting ready to clear out her late in-laws home. She wondered if I might be interested in a few pieces as she trusts it will be in good hands!

My reply….I am absolutely interested!❤️

A nice drive to San Francisco, an easy trip down the stair case, and this beautiful piece was officially mine!

I love knowing that furniture like this has a story and a history and now I get the chance to give this dresser a new life✨

So good it brings me back🤎
This antique writing desk is such a magical piece, and I’m so grateful I had the chance to work on it. There’s something special about giving an old piece a little love and watching its character come back to life✨

I love thinking about all the stories this little desk has already been a part of🕊️ #refinisheddesk #antiquefurniture #beforeandafter #love #beforeandafter taken in San Francisco Bay Area by @earthyflips

A little piece of history given a whole new life✨ This early 1900s beauty got a much needed makeover, and I couldn’t love the transformation more! 🕊️🤎

When the principal at the boys’ school asked if I had a tool to remove one of the shelves from the cabinet so she could create a Lego station, I said, “We’ll figure it out!”😊 And in Earthyflips fashion, I had to flip it too!

The final result is perfectly imperfect and the coolest LEGO cabinet for the kids💜💚 #community #paintedfurniture #urbanbronze #legostation #beforeandafter by @earthyflips

Before + After🩵

• Scuff sanded with 180 grit sandpaper.
• Primed with BIN shellac primer. Shellac hardens I wouldn’t recommend in sprayer and using a roller not a brush.
• Three coats of @benjaminmoore paint in color Ashwood Gray.
• Top coat with @minwaxusa water-based in Satin.

This cutie deserves all the love✨

What color do you think I should paint this vintage faux bamboo dresser? I’m thinking Teal, Light Blue, or Bright Pink!

It was a tough decision….in the end light oak won!

• Stripped the spindles using @greenez_
• Sanded using 120 grit sandpaper followed by 180 grit to smooth out
• Stained with @minwax Classic Grey to help the grain cool, deepen, and pop
• Beige washed with Historic Beige by @melangepaints
• Used Matte water base top coat
• Styled with children’s books because I can totally picture this living beside a cozy reading nook 📚

Would you have chosen light oak or gone darker? 👇
