POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I always used to say, “If Rell there, that mean Dub ain’t too far behind him.” The ones that knew you both knew y’all came as a package when it came to everything. I met you both together, and I find comfort in knowing that you two are watching over each other now.

Y’all would always say I had the wise words and answers for the many challenges and trials this world threw at us, that I was always the most logical and unbiased. And yet, yesterday was the first time in my life where I felt like I couldn’t put my true feelings into words.

You both were not just my friends, not just someone who was a chapter in my life. You both were my brothers. You lived with me during my first year when my mom moved away for work, and you loved me as though we’d been together since we were babies.

I used to drive six hours from Alabama to Louisiana every weekend, back and forth. And although y’all knew that every time I said, “Man, I don’t know if I’m coming this weekend,” I’d still hit y’all’s phones to let y’all know to keep the door open for me when I got there.

Dub:

My baby brother, my heart. You were the most even-keeled person I’d ever met. You taught me patience and presence—the beauty of living in the moment we have right now and not getting caught up with what’s to come.

You knew no challenges were bigger than your mind, and you overcame obstacles with less experience and resources than I could’ve ever imagined. We bonded over the fact that our families no longer lived close, and a lot of those holidays we didn’t get to share with them, we shared with each other, eating meal deals from McDonald’s. You were always cool with that.

You never made me feel like I needed something to offer or talked to me at your own convenience. I’d pop up on you at 1:30 PM the same way I’d slide at 3:30 AM, and it’d be the same thing: “Wassam, Pac?” Then we’d get to talking about whatever it may have been.

I always admired your confidence and how, with anything you put on, it couldn’t be bad because Dub was rocking it.

You always used to tell me you needed to go to one store, and we’d end up running buku errands. You knew that shit used to blow me, but I never complained about it, be taken in U.S. Virgin Islands by @eas0nlymuel
